A couple of health issues ... The first has to do with updated rabies vaccination results

http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2016/04/06/overdue-rabies-vaccine.aspx?utm_source=petsnl&utm_medium=email&utm_content=art1&utm_campaign=20160406Z1&et_cid=DM102105&et_rid=1430240475

The second has to do with laminate floors .. obviously if offgassing from laminate floors affects human health it has double the effect on our dogs who breathe in much higher dosages of those gasses.

Bubs,
You find her to be a reputable source? Website is like a cheap scammy page with lots of advertising and nice wording to create hoopla for regular "pet" dog owners. Reminds me of those magazines up by the check out that use misleading info to woo the gullible.
Not a lot of facts to back up the science from the few I read.
No way trying to attack you for posting, but curious as to why someone as educated as you *may* have fallen for this.

Apparently you did not read the material in the links which are posted .. the information on the revised rabies vaccine recommendations and the health dangers of off spec Chinese made laminate floors is correct. I seldom trust any source to be untainted by commercial self promotion whether the CDC, AMA, or the FDA without checking. Big Pharma runs the FDA and there is little we hear about vaccines, drugs, and medical treatments that is not skewed to favor the corporate interests in the USA. The link below is to a film from Europe describing how even the European corporate medical apparatus works for profits and not patients.  It is only worse in the USA.

Dr. Karen Becker has put many informative Vids on YouTube over the years. She actually has very good credentials and a loyal following among serious dog people who usually think they know more than the average vet. She has raw feeding vids, and holistic themes that traditional trained vets might not be so well versed.

I am surprised that you, hunterjumper did NOT recognize her as an authority in that of which Dr. Becker speaks.

I'd be feeling real pissed if I just put in a laminate floor purchased at Lumber Liquidators, myself.

The Lumber Liquidators thing is real. We got a letter about it because we had put it in my son's room recently. Luckily, we moved shortly after that, but I was still not a happy camper.

Dr. Karen Becker is most certainly a qualified source, regardless of what she may or may not appear to be endorsing and/or selling. My dogs actually used to be real, live patients of hers before she got too "famous" to see regular pets for regular visits and felt she could do more good educating the general public. She's a wonderful vet and I wish she was still seeing pets in the area. She fixed what no one else had a clue about in literally one visit. I have also used many of the Mercola products she endorses/sells and they are fantastic. Digestive enzymes and probiotics are the best/most potent I have ever come across.

Just because someone sells something doesn't mean they are fraudulent. She is a very caring vet- extremely genuine if you ever met her in person. She gets right down on the floor and sits on a blanket with the dog, is more thorough than any other vet I've ever seen in her physical exam, and I do not believe she would endorse something she did not believe in just for $$$. Her clinic also does/did wildlife rehab. She's definitely not a "scammy" advertiser.

Thanks for the input all, but after further research I'm still leaning towards my first thought.

In that case, I'd like to know who you DO consider a credible veterinarian that is also well known on the internet? Such a comparison would help us see if your research has merit.

Dr Becker does not sell wood floors. What is the reasoning she would risk her excellent reputation to denigrate lumber liquidators?? Thats hilarious.

by beetree on 08 April 2016 - 21:04

It wasn't Dr. Becker —it was Dr. Mercola who wrote the article about laminate dangers. The Lumber Liquidators is in the news, is all, they are being singled out in class action lawsuits.

Two separate health issues were mentioned by bubba in the same thread. So, I can see how you might have blended them.

I perhaps, could have made a better segway with my last sentence, myself.

Gigante, no one said anything about her selling wood floors you goof
