Hang in there. I have a few suggestions that may help. If the dog makes when it's time to go in the crate then he had to go. I would stay outside until he does. It may be a trial of patience, but you need to last longer than him heh. Also get him making in one spot in the yard to do his business. He needs to know that when you go to the spot, that that is the place and time to go. I'd also suggest taking the food and water up when you guys have dinner, assuming dinner is 5-7 pm. It sounds like you need to associate some thing good with going in the crate. It sounds like he hates it or is scared about it. Maybe give him a Kong filled with treats or something delicious in the crate while you are there with him to keep an eye on him. It is probably going to be some work now that he has negative associations with the crate already, but you can do it. Keep doing this with lots of praise and encouragement. I am sure other more experienced trainers would have some good suggestions about how to do this.

i have been taking to the same spot 50 times a night well maybe not 50 times but you get the idea and usually he will not go or when i am bringing back into the house on the way he will pee some where else in the yard and like i said sometimes he will sit by the door to go out and i get real happy becauswe i think he needs to go but 20 minutes later after eating some snoe and no peeing i bring him in and not very often but has happened a few times he will pee in the house mintues later

I'll second the suggestion to pick up his water and food at least 2-hours before bed time. Also, when you take him out, give him a command to pee, use whatever word you want but use it each and every time. Once you start you have to stick with it. You can't expect to go out for a few minutes and give up. You need to go out as long as it takes and when he finally does, praise him for iit using the word you picked. As he gets older this will come in handy when you travel.

yes i am using a crate which he does not pee in but your right iam going to stop giving him water 2 hours before he goes to bed i usually give him water an hour before he goes to sleep and take him out before i put him in...i do use a command to go outside he knows that when he does his buissness and he gets lots of praise and a treat..i am starting to wonder if is just smarter then me and is just trying to piss me off :)

Sounds like he is really not liking being put up. I had a pup who would poop in his crate when locked up. It was an attitude thing, not that he couldn't hold it. You really need to make the crate something good for your puppy. Bribe, bribe, bribe. Put pieces of hotdogs or a stuffed kong like suggested before. Be consistant and before long he will not dread the crate.

Hi - Be patient . First suffestion . When you dog eliminates outside , and some have sadi at the beginning you may have to wait him out - then just a spli second before he voids then puy a soft verbal cue on the act . such as void" or "business time" . If you miss a split second before the behavioe then say/attatch the verbal cue at the same time he is elimintating/voiding . also when the act is finished use soft exuberant praise paired with giving him a scrumptiuos treat . In time he will look forward to the routine before crating for the night . Secondly , I do not put /lead /place my dogs in the crate . I interact with then so that they cannot wait to run into the crate. I start this as pups . I move them toward the crate , off leash /no collar. I have them follow i nice morsel of cheese, a cookie treat , or roast-beef . whatever the dog likes. i throe the trat in to the back and calmly close the door then i give him a bit more . I repeat this . sometimes during the day and sometimes during the day i don't close the door but allow him to come back out . once the behavior is establisherd then i perform the same actions but now attatch the verbal cue "crate" . over time your dog will run into the crate at the moyion of you hand . still my adult dogs if i crate them now and then get a treat asd they enter the crate . sometimes they run in way ahead of me - good luck [ ps - the idea is to change the congnitive perceptions and meannings within your dog's mind]
