When and how to induce vomiting .. the article below suggests hydrogen peroxide.  I didn't know that but perhaps others here can add additional information and experiences.  I have never had a need to induce vomiting nor did I know how to do this in dogs.  Other ideas, naysayers, and methodology welcomed.

When my Irish Terrier was two years old ( she is now almost 16 yrs old, so 14 yrs ago) she got hold of an envelope of tasty 'chewable' antibiotics ...there were enough for ten days meant for one of my other dogs, so about twenty tablets.
Anyway, she ate all of them. In a panic, I called my vet. He instructed me to give her 20 cc of hydrogen peroxide, or as much as it took till she vomited. She did vomit, all the antibiotics and tons of foamy peroxide. She was fine afterwards with no adverse affects from overdose of antibiotics nor the peroxide.

Oh geez....we keep a Costco double-pack of peroxide around here. They thankfully don't neat non-edibles, typically, but not everything edible for US is good for THEM. I have induced vomiting more times than I care to recall in the past 15 years. And thus far, total success; whatever was not meant to be there was removed -sans surgery.

I always keep a couple of bottles of peroxide on hand, as it's part of the skunk remedy invented by chemist Paul Krebaum. I've also used it to induce vomiting when my dogs have eaten something they shouldn't have.

I'd like to mention that not everything a dog eats is safe to bring back up by vomiting.
I called my vet when my dog ate a package of antibiotics because I did not know if hydrogen peroxide would perhaps create a chemical reaction with the drug that could cause her stomach to explode.....so please do not be cavalier about inducing vomiting with H2O2.

Only had to do it once when my dog grabbed a plastic bag out of my hand, I used salt on the back of her tongue and up it came.

I've used peroxide for when Maggie ate the whole X-Mas chocolate cake, Payne ate part of a bar of Dial soap. And a few other times for them eating things she shouldn't. But i have never had to deal with chemicals that they may of ingested.
Peroxide is handy for the little stuff. And safe, when the extra atom leaves it it's just water again.
