The 5300 year old mummy Otzi found in the Alps in 1991 had Lyme ... our smart doctors first diagnosed Lyme in 1975 and identified the bacteria in 1981. Lyme has also been found in mosquitoes in 15k old amber. Makes one wonder what other diseases are being overlooked or misdiagnosed by vets and docs. Lyme was once called juvenile arthritis and something crazy people get until our brilliant medical industry " discovered " the disease the way Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas????

You and me are just a grain of sand within the human timeframe - a lot of research and new medical development will be made after you and I are long gone.
I am pretty sure within some decades humans won´t be afraid of some life threatening diseases any longer, simply because some intelligent human will find the answer, and the help.

History
Lyme disease (borreliosis) is an infectious, tick-borne disease first recognized in dogs in 1985. It is caused by Borrelia burgdorferi, a type of bacteria called a 'spirochete.' The common deer tick Ixodes scapularis (formerly called Ixodes dammini) is the primary carrier of B. burgdorferi in the Northeast and upper Midwest. The tick Ixodes pacificus is the primary carrier in the western United States.
Although Lyme disease was first diagnosed in Connecticut in 1975, there is evidence that it has existed in wildlife for many years. Tissue samples taken from a white-footed mouse in Massachusetts in 1894 have now undergone DNA testing that show the mouse was infected with Lyme disease.
