Hello, just wanted to post some info about this web site and the owner Donna Varner. Feb 28 2007 we found an ad posted on puppyfind.com for Fancy a female German Shepherd that was pregnant and due to whelp Mar 24 2007. We drove to Marietta, Ohio on Mar 3rd, (which was supposed to be 4 hours from her home in Claysville, PA but was really only 20 mins away) and met her in BP parking lot where she stated Fancy was due to give birth on the 24th. We purchased her for $2000.00 cash witnessed by me, my husband and 14 yr old son. She rode home great and we kept her in our garage the first night, the next morning we went out to see her and she was spotting and we thought she had miscarried so we took her to the vet who did a test and said she was not pregnant and was really just coming into heat. We contacted Donna and finally after 6 days she offered a breed back with her stud Vador which we declined because we already put him in with our stud Maj (after 6 days of trying to contact her via e-mail and phone calls). I told her I wanted $1000.00 dollars back and me keep the dog or a total refund and her pick up the dog. She said there will be no refunds or guarantees. Just wondering what people think of this situation and letting people know to be cautious of this seller and the dogs she sells. You can't trust anyone!

I think you should make good on this and give them back part of the money since they bought a bred bitch and she is not bred by your stud like the ad stated. I also saw that same ad on puppyfind.com We have to make good on this or the whole dog business is loosing integrity.

Oh we also offered to take a female from her advertised upcoming litter in exchange but she said no refund and no puppy! So beware!

I just took a look at her website. What a mess.

Bad situation but looking at the website will show you: "No Guarantees No Refunds Thank you for looking at my site." Quote on nearly every page. Caveat emptor. A verbal guarantee is only as trustworthy as the person who speaks it.

A verbal agreement is only as good as the paper it is written on.

Also a good analogy Zahnburg, though there are some I would trust at such a word, the number is woefully small.

He says he's an appraiser. Put a note in with BBB in his town and in his county with his name and state what he did to you. A lot of people looking for appraisers check references. Also, go to ripoffreport.com and make a report there. Other than that. You are probably out of luck. The part that said no refunds and no guarantees should have made you run the other way. Birdy...

Just curious.. Did you have the pregnancy confirmed by a vet before agreeing to purchase the female? Was the pregnancy part of the terms of the sale, and I mean in writing, not verbally...? If you did not have the pregnancy confirmed by a vet, as well as a complete check up done on the female prior to purchase, you really don't have anyone to blame but yourself in my opinion...not what you want to hear I am sure, but people really need to do their homework before plunking down their hard earned money...
