A link to a youtube video about how the human experience of reality and that of our dogs differ.

Would that the last screen shot & caption were always true.
This is good on describing the physical realities / differences between dogs and humans, but there is surely more to be said about "reality" when it comes to perceptions, attitudes, behaviour and interpretation ...

What is "hunter orange" ? Is it like Dayglo Yellow ? Absolutely agree about humans generally failing to understand scent and sound from a dog's viewpoint; who knows whether dogs "get" human reliance on vision ? I think some of my dogs have grasped that my vision (poor as it is !) was better than theirs in terms of distance, colour discrimination and static objects because they have appeared to "use" my ability to see further & clearer to their advantage, sometimes. I wish your last sentence was always true: dogs read what Judge Judy calls "body English" well; but many humans don't seem to have a clue about dogs' silent expression. I must say, it isn't always easy even for those of us who do normally know we can 'read' our dogs.

About a year ago i saw BBC documentary called ''Inside the animal mind". It was really interesting.
What i found particular interesting was the answer to the question. Can dogs really tell time?
Here is a link of that episode. Hoop the link works.

WIKIPEDIA ... "Safety orange is the same color as blaze orange, the shade of orange (Color No. 12199) required by United States law (U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, Title 15 Commerce and Foreign Trade, Section 1150.3) to be on the tips of barrels of replica guns such as airsoft guns, and cap or toy guns. Hunter orange is also the color of hats, caps, and other safety wear required to be worn while hunting in most US states."

better ? If they can, then maybe the US could switch its legal
requirement to the British equivalent instead ? (No, I don't see
that happening ...)
