So definitely would like to try some real search work with Becky, the simples field search she already does really well, with and without distraction, she finds and retrieve the object with no problem, super focus and never gives up.
Now we would like to try something different. we want her to search and signal when she finds stuff, the boxes would be the thing to do right?
How is this accomplished and what is needed? Can someone do like a "step-by-step"?
Thanks

What kind of stuff, humans, drugs, explosives, money, cell phones, bed bugs? What is the box work specifically for?

You want her to search for items in a field and indicate, or as a detection dog for a specific odor(s)?

This is just us trying to learn more and finding some more stuff for Becky to do that doesn't envolve other people, we don't have acess to decoys or helpers but our friends that are also learning... Becky is really active dog and always want something to do and something to work with, she does like toys (just if we are asking her to find then of throwing then for her to fecht) and hates when she have nothing to do (she starts biting herself) so we try to spend all the time we can doing something with her that helps her keeping her mind busy...

I was thinking something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5C63qD3bdrU or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bM8gYb8v4Q

BlackMalinois and Hired Dog the thing she would be searching it would have to be something of easy acess (not drugs or guns, as easy at it is to find this stuff for the wrong reazons, I don't have acess to then) and puting her barking doesn't seen like a great idea, litle Isa is noisy enouth for both of then lol, so it would be finding the object and siting or lyind down.

hntrjmpr434 can I work box and field at the same time or is it diferente works?

Randy hare has excellent videos available, nobody is going to type the large book required to answer your question on a forum.

I understand what you talking about KNPV box revieren is an other diciplin.

the best thing is I hope you can find somebody who have good experience and knowledge with detection work
I don,t think its a good idea to learn this on a forum because the foundation is timing and reward
so you have to work on good foundation and not making errors it is dificault to clean op the errors especialy
with information on a forum real training  and practise learn is the best. you need someone who can read the dog good. beside  you  not missing details........JMO.

vk4gsd don't want a book, just some guide line to start some new type of productive play with my dog ;)
BlackMalinois unfortunately I don't have anyone that can help me with this type of work... will keep searching and reading about it and having fun with my dog while trying to keep her motivated and that beautiful head of her busy =)
Thanks
