Nice job!!!

holy crap you don't believe in giving a dog a reward to mark correct behaviour????? Not all, not even once per session?????

Only thing missing was yank and crank. Nice dog, she deserves better. Immerse yourself in free Micheal Ellis videos, join the 21'st century and teach your dog that training is fun.

this is someone else training your dog for you, I thought you were female??

I do agree with vk4.

She is not at the point yet where you can go that long without a reward. I did hear what I think was verbal praise when she did a behavior, but Becky did not seem like she recognized it as a marker for doing a behavior correctly.

I would work more on focus and attention work.

Thank you for sharing, I am enjoying seeing her progress! Such a pretty girl.

I don't use food for OB training either. Becky will keep improving and so will her handler. Again, nice job. I can tell she is special to you.

blitz you dont use food rewards, good, most people don't for anything other than puppies.

Do your dog/s perform as Becky does?

vk4gsd She was beeing rewarded, verbaly and emotionally, it is the method we use in the club we go to. Becky is the most serious dog in the world Tongue Smile kidding she was sulking because he was playing with her just befor the warm up and she was seeing the tugs in the back of the field (our fault Red Smile)

THE PERSON IN THE VIDEO IS NOT ME! IT'S MY BOYFRIEND FLÁVIO... Tongue Smile I'm a defenetly a female Teeth Smile Flávio is Becky's owner and handler, they are a great team, only overcome by him and our litle Isa, she is a small mixed breed (some crazy mix that when i'm ritch will have to make a dna test to discover what is behind her) that he is triyng to start in agility, Isa have full obedience better than much GSD that frequent the club but she is a total rabit and is super funny to se her jump a run every where... In the clip movie she is training to pass from beginner to the advanced class, just over a year ago:

Thanks very much for the praise and advice, it is true that i'm am always saying to him that he have to give more praise to his dog WHILE training! He gets super focus and forget's to give praise to the girls... Isa was he firts try at training a dog (and only his second dog ever) so give him some discount Wink Smile

Thanks again for all the advice! love sharing with you guys...

God... haven't watch this clip for ages... At the start she was realy slow, the obedience wasn't perfect, in the exame she passed with a 6.9 in 10 points (5.9 because Flávio made a route mistake and were taken a full point)... And Flávio was REALY green in the comands Omg Smile

Isa is a great litle dog but have a really tough personality, she was 1 year and about 7 months old in the clip was training since she was 5 months and she was doing everithing perfect by 7 or 8 months but then teenage happend and she stop obeying Flávio even in a simple Sit... He had to start over like she didn't know anything.

Even today, EVERY scar that Becky have was given to her by Isa! Becky is 24 kg and Isa is 9 kg, but she is the complete boss in the house (my other dog Mic is "krill" a small shrimps at the end of the food chain lol)

This was a great reminder to me that Becky is Flávio third dog ever! Second in training, first in work training!  I'm really proud Teeth Smile

Ana, save your money on the breed DNA tests, they aren't worth it. Cute little mutt! Wink Smile

I am not sold on just emotional rewarding. I do not feel it is enough of a reinforcer for the dog, but continue if you all feel it works for Becky.

My dogs and dogs I have trained for others have done well enough to earn OB titles with class placements and a BH, vk. I don't like food rewards for dogs of any age. I don't want my dogs crowding me looking for food or expecting a bribe to do an exercise. When we are trialing and I don't have a pocket full of treats, I want them to pay attention.

Food rewards work for many trainers and dogs; I dont feel they work best for me and mine so I no longer use them.
