What is the minimum age that a puppie can be imported from Germany into the United States?

8 weeks...airlines require that they are at least 8 weeks, and normally they don't do the tattoo until right at that age.

Most air carriers do not allow/accept puppies younger than 8 weeks old. That is the driving force behind it all. I don't know why would want to import one younger than that anyway, to ensure you have a properly emotionally balanced puppy.

Under SV regulations the breeder can not release the puppies under 8 weeks anyway.

8 weeks is the minimum, for multiple reasons--however, I just found out that a German breeder (younger "gentleman") shipped a puppy at just over 7 weeks! I guess money is not just the driving force in the United States...

Howdy,
i do not give a pup away under the age of 8 weeks, just as Wingertshaus pointed out, under SV regulations its not allowed anyways. Longhorns, pups can be tatooed at the age of 50 days, not earlier, also a regulation of the SV. Also the pup has to have 1st set of shots done prior to tatoo.(Tatoo # gets imprinted into the vaccination booklet of the pup)
As to the age requirement for the airline i am not sure, but never heared of problems, if the pup is 8 weeks old.
