Admins/Mods, delete if this is somehow in violation. I think truly kind vets who put animals first should be promoted. There are so many corporate vets out there who are just happy to make a dime, I think it's important to support the good apples.
I am reaching out to posters and asking for a very simple act- click to vote for my vet who is trying to win enough votes to earn a small business grant (more details on the site, if interested). This is a vet who cares for over 100 working K9s as well as pets. This is a husband and wife business. Their amazing young daughter is involved as well. These people actually care about animals. This is not a corporation masqeurading as animal lovers. She was just in Georgia acting as on-site vet for NAPWDA.
This grant will help them to do more in the community; they already offer discounted services to all working dogs. Please take 3 seconds and vote for them. I assure you whatever funds they get from this grant, should they win, will go back to help animals and the community.
PERSONAL STORY W/DR. NEWMAN: This past fall/winter, some of you may remember, I had quite a run with animals needing vet care. Capri was spayed and gastropexied, then Eden had the emergency obstruction (that wasn't, lol), then Aria and Megy got so sick with whatever that hellacious virus was, then Simon was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor...all between November 17th and December 23rd. Do the math...I was in a bit of a crunch.
Dr. Newman not only met me in her ambulance in her driveway during her Christmas party when Aria was crashing and her 9 pups were in jeopardy, but she did her best to keep charges reasonable as well. She then was ready and waiting for me the morning after her birthday party, a Saturday morning, when Megy was taking longer than was I comfortable with to produce pup #1. Of course she had him just fine on her own seconds after our arrival, but the point is, I wasn't referred to a high-dollar, low-skill emergency clinic. She was there in her Saturday morning best (lol), ready to help my dog.
She does not agree with all my choices, and I'm sure she bites her tongue on occasion, but she respects that they are my dogs and it's my decision, which to me, is more important than agreeing on everything.
So, that's why I am taking the time to try to help her win this grant. I know it would be put to good use. Thanks for reading.

Thank you all. You never know; she just may be the on-site vet for you one day at a show or trial.

Thanks to those who have voted. We have almost doubled what was there last night. Please pass this along, share on FB, whatever!

Careful, Jenni, people who are in a 'good vet desert' might try to lure her away from your area....
She's got my vote.
