WOO HOO!! The Marcato's crew rocks it out at the southeast futurity! 4th futurity dog Marcato's Katmandu "Ouzo"....FIRST teenage futurity dog Marcato's Fire Inside "Moto"!!!!!!!
So so so proud!
Happy birthday to the sire of these puppies, GCH BOF/BOM Stuttgart's Single Action Army v Hammersmith, owned by Anya Vasilis Dobratz!!
CH Mana's 5 Cents for Advice Marcato RN TC, the mother of these glorious babies is currently 5 weeks in whelp with the repeat of this litter :D
This breeder is OVER THE MOON!
This puppy is taking us on a RIDE!! He will take a break from conformation in a few months so we can start herding training. His mother and two of his siblings should get their HTs this year. Will be shooting for their PTs and his HT PT next year :D

WhOOpWHooPWHOOP!! Great stuff, Xeph!! Ironic, isn't it, that the pup you had to reposess when he wasn't being cared for properly takes the top spot in his category, and at a Specialty--not a common win for a litter that can take the ribbons in All Breed shows as well!
They all look good, and you must be so high on endorphins I don't know how you can get any sleep for at least a week! Quite an accomplishment for your first litter out of your first champion! Congratulations!!!!

Congrats Xeph!! It's been so much fun watching your crew grow up. I hope you will continue with similar updates on the second litter. :)
Can you explain what a futurity is/how it works, for us clueless people?

It is basically a glorified specialty match ;) The futurity/maturity is meant to showcase the future of our breed and what certain bloodline combinations are producing. Unfortunately, too many people have litter mates all over the place and they all go to different fut/mats. I busted my butt and made sure all my puppies went to the same one (and will again) so people could see the consistency of the litter.
Plus, I'm not going to three different futurities because one puppy may do better under a different judge than another :p
While no points were earned, prestige and notoreity comes with the wins. It is wonderful advertisement for the sire of the puppies, as well as my kennel.
The reach and drive is wonderful on all these babies. But you know what's even better? Their minds. Could not ask for sounder animals. I am especially pleased for Moto, who had such a crap start. Nothing bothers him. No sound sensitivities, socially open, HAPPY, hard working.
American dogs don't have to be useless pretty cripples. All of these puppies are marvelous pets and are doing me proud in every venue they work in.
