Hello. I'm new to the site.

I was researching the dogs on my dog's pedigree, and I found out that the registration number of my dog's grand-dam isn't the registration number of the dog I was told she was.

At first, I thought it was probably a misspelling of the name, but I think it's a different dog entirely.

The pedigree says Alma Moora Strela, DN34305501. I was told it was Alma Modra Strela, SUCHN 56484. Is it a different female?

The DN number is an AKC registration number the SUCHN 56484 looks like a foreign regisrty

I know that, but does that mean they're different dogs?

The registry number for Angsbacken's Rosso is also different than the number on the pedigree.

The dog was registered with a foreign country then came to the US and was registered with AKC

Your dog's maternal granddam's name is Alma Modra strela; it is not uncommon, unfortunately, for there to be discrepancies between how the name appears on the dog's original registration from the country where the litter was born and first registered, and what appears on the dog's AKC registration after said dog has been imported into the US...handwritten documentation gets misread, someone makes a typographical error when recording the info from the foreign registry's pedigrees, and unless someone alerts the AKC to the mistake and insists it be corrected, it gets perpetuated with each passing generation.

In short, Alma Modra strela and Alma Moora Strela are one and the same--"Modra strela" is the name of the kennel.

Thank you all for the information. I'm still pretty new to all of this.

The FCI has a downloadable list of registry intials from its member countries on its website. Acc. to this list SUCHN is the initial for GSDs registered in Slovakia.
And, as others explained already, imported dogs can be crossregistered with the registry of the dog's new country of residence.
The format of pedigreedatabase.com currently allows only one registry number to be entered for each dog. Other databases have two or more slots for registry numbers which helps if filled out correctly.
