Be sure to click on the links that talk about the funding for studies. If this study unfolds as the other CHF  DNA studies have, there will probably be a request for DNA samples. Usually the initial testing is done at no cost.

I did not open your links, but rather than ask for swabs from random dogs, maybe they should get swabs from diagnosed dogs and see what they have in common. But they are probly going to go with a bunch of random dogs and guess. The Golden's fanciers have been frustrated with lack of results in testing for a protracted period of time.

You might want to read the updates

We continue to collect samples for these projects, and we would be extremely grateful to owners who wished to participate by contributing blood and pedigree information from healthy (aged) dogs and from affected dogs. Information for participation is available at http://www.modianolab.org/studyInfo/studyInfo_index.shtml.

I wish I would have known about this back in December. I lost my Molly to hemangio and a few years ago lost my Libby. Molly was 8.

I hope people participate as it would be great to find a way to diagnose and treat this disease.

Just like any other health study, the more that participate the sooner there will be results.
