LaPorte, I saw it too! NOW... people all over the world know who and what he is. Lets see if they sell him a dog! Their reputations as breeders would be ruined! JMO!

by LaPorte on 28 February 2007 - 00:02

It showed up as a website ad in the grey area over the messageboard. I haven't seen it since. I think it was a google ad?

I just browsed the Hunte Presentation listed above and went to the corp. website. Frankly, my mouth dropped open when I saw the 100K sq. ft. facility and the fleet of semi's used to deliver the pups. I had NO idea anything like this even existed! This definatly isn't the filthy, muddy, parasite infested, disease-ridden backyard full of neglected dogs I expected. Then again, it is a LONG way from my, uh, "cozy" little home, with the puppy-customized house plants, puppy-frayed throw rugs, shredded toys, and too-many-shoes-by-the-front door, where I spend years studying bloodlines in order to make the best possible breeding decisions I can. I am tempted to call the Hunte Corp. to see how many options there are on the automated menu and investigate how they make THEIR breeding decisions, but I have too many dogs to take care of, pictures to take, rolls of film to get processed at Walmart (I love my old Nikon SLR!) and phone calls/messages to respond to. (Sorry, no corporate staff, thus no payroll, human resources dept., fleet maintenance issues, on-site, large-scale sanitation plant, inventory software, etc., here... but I am still pretty busy every day) I guess I have been hiding under my rock too long. I am shocked. Shelley

Shelley, Hunte buys puppies from breeders and resells them. The facility itself is not a breeding kennel.

animules is correct.. he only drives the getaway car.. What he has done is set up an organized way for puppy mills to market their pups. Without a doubt this marketing plan will increase the number of breeding and pups produced by the puppy mills.

I believe Hunte is both a dog breeder and a dog broker. In addition to the GSDCA, he also boasts of memberships in other breed clubs and registries. The last figures I saw indicated he is involved in registering approximately 1 million puppies annually. That's a big part of AKC's annual income. I'm sure AKC is well aware the Hunte is a cash cow and that he could just as easily take his business to another registry. They will not be speaking out against Hunte or his business practices anytime soon.
