How do you know when your post is replied to or how do you get email notification on a thread you'd like to follow or participating in?  I post but them sometimes I forget to go back to the thread unless I leave the page open on my computer... What does everyone else do to follow a topic???

Sometimes I see people comment that others "disappear" but i'm not so sure that's always the case. I disappear since I'm too busy multitasking that I forget because I don't get an email notification:-(

I usually pull up the latest posts and there's a link at the top that says, "Your posts," that will bring up the threads you've either started or to which you've responded.

Well no emails and nothing goes "ping" to alert you, as far as I know,  LOL !

Unless Oli is going to write that into the Beta version.   Wink Smile

I can tell you what I do [but I'm not using a 'phone, so that may

be different ] :  I check in frequently, even if briefly, which helps me to

remember topic titles.  On the right hand column of  "Forum page 1 - Latest

Posts"  it lists the last person to post on that topic - if it is still your

username that means nobody has replied yet.    If I haven't been

by for a day or two, and know that I did post a comment but can't

remember when or where, I scroll back (bottom of page) to view

previous pages,  and try to pick up anything there that sounds like

a question or debate I have commented in.  Does that help at all ?

Maybe other posters have some setting on their devices where they

can set up such alerts - I never tried that.

Oh yeah - and there's what Keith suggests doing ^^^.   Red Smile

Thanks Hundmutter! I don't even own a cell phone, no service where we are, only a computer:-) I tried going to "Your posts" and it seems to be the easiest for me right now;)

I think an email notification would be an awesome addition to PDB!

( I think we were all posting at the same timeTongue Smile )

You could go to the Beta Forum page and suggest it.  Teeth Smile

I think you CAN get software that you can download to your computer

which alerts you  audibly or otherwise to incoming e mails;  I have seen

this in the past, but don't have a clue how to access it again, you could do

a search.  Whether that extends to marking activity of a Favourite website,

or not, I cannot recall.

I have tried over and over to get Oli to include notifications. He did include it on pedigrees but have been unable to get the rest included. Maybe someday.
