Meet Scarlet Rose! My mom's new Golden Retriever puppy. Horribly adorable, such a sweetheart, and SO VERY SMART it kills me. 3 months old tomorrow.
I showed them how to use a clicker to train her, as her food drive is off the charts... and it only takes her a couple of minutes to learn something new. I work with her a little every time I go visit. The only troubles that they are having is her nipping them (which I find a bit hilarious as they've -I kid you not- taught this puppy to bite them by giving her a treat every time she lets go LMAO), so that is their biggest goal.
But ain't she cute?!
Oh, and she thinks Auntie Qira is just awesome... Auntie Qira... tolerates her.... LOL

Beautiful....looks like a nice, fun pup.
I hope she gives your parents , (and you and Qira) years of fun and happiness.

Awww...I was just thinking about your old girl, Jewel, the other day, too. Miss Scarlet Rose is simply stinkin' cute! Poor Qira...she wasn't expecting this job, I'm sure!

It's hard not to think about Jewel when I look at her - I can't believe she's been gone over a year now. Scarlet reminds me a lot of her in some ways, mainly in how freaking HAPPY she is when I walk in the door... comes racing over with that killer tail, whimpering and wanting her cuddles, just like Jewel used too. And also if you give her an ice cube or a treat she will go off and play with it before she eats it - Jewel used to play with her food every time she ate, whether it was just her kibble or not. So it's cool to see those little reminders here and there, but they are very different at the same time. :)
And no, Qira was certainly not expecting it LOL. The other day we took them to the lake, and someone was walking their husky puppy - right about Scarlet's age - by. They wound up letting him off to play with Scarlet, and next thing you know the two of them are ganging up and trying to chase poor Q down to steal her frisbee. You can just see Qira thinking "Damn it I'm too old for this!" the whole time.
