I am one who likes to hear (read) the opinions of others and the thinking that goes behind it.
In a kind of continuation from the working/pet definition thread I would like to pose this question: Would you rather breed to/buy progeny of a VA rated IPO III or a proven LE dog (legitimate bites on street, narc finds, successful tracks, etc.). For the sake of this question everything else would be equal such as female would complement either one, health tests results are the same.
Me, I would go with the LE. Probably because that's how I have been involved with the GSD. Maybe my opinion would be different if I was involved with sport.

I would go with the dog that could produce the type of dog I want. Now, LE dog may sound "sexier", but, if both of these dogs could produce well and produce the types of dogs I am interest in, what difference does it make where the puppy came from, make sense?

I would go with the better nerves, temperament, and conformation - that said I´d need to see the dogs in real.

As for most people choosing a stud, it would probably depend on who their target customers are. If they want to promote the VA rated ( structure, I assume you are talking about) 3 title then that is want they are going to use. If its dogs for work they want to produce, then the working dog is used. Jmo. Lol, Susie we posted at the same time and said the same thing. I, too, would HAVE to see the dogs in person.

A tract record of good health, temperament. great structure and versatility in my pick of a puppy, with all that the puppy/dog would be able to perform any task with ease and confidence. BOL: Nan

Hypothetically they have equal nerves, temperment, conformation, and in person you like them equally. Is the title something that you have to have? As a breeder and/or as an owner?
