I have done some research on working line dogs and their colors. My question is there any breeders that breed the black and tan/red coat in a working dog? I am not a fan of sables and blacks but I dont mind the bi colored dogs. I have been told that peole do breed this color however I have yet to find it?!

I don't think a working lines dog is for you.

There are Black and Tan dogs that often compete in KNPV trials, as well as other top working venues. Get off this working lines kick, and look for a puppy out of Black and Tan parents that work in the area you want your pup to work. There are no such thing as lines in the breed or standard.

I do think a WL dog is for me, I know me and my personallity better than anyone else.  Gustav: your the first person to tell me the WL doesnt exist and I have talked to a lot of breeders.

RBR, that's not quite what Gustav meant, I don't think, though I hate to speak for him.

But I'm confused now; I posted the pics of the bicolor pup because you said you've heard the color exists but you can't find any. Did you mean black and tan?? I just was showing yes, bicolors do exist and people are breeding them.

'.........yes, bicolors do exist and people are breeding them.'
Hopefully Not breeding FOR them...as that is how the b/r dogs have come to where they are. And unfortunately, the mahogany sables are coming to the same demise because of breeding FOR color. Same thing happened in the seventies with the newly formed Paint Quarter Horse breed. Choosing for color, some popular stud horses that were homozygous for paint markings were used extensively but they also had very bad temperaments. One paint stud passed on a genetic problem in the throat, where the horses (when adult) would asperate food while eating or choke out during hard exersise. They ended up having a shit load of Paint Horses in the eighties that could only be shown in halter, as riding them could be detrimental to horse and rider.

Yes I am asking about the black and tan/red with the saddle. There a few bi colors close to me. I am not asking to breed just on color, I was just wondering if anyone breeds saddle backs in the WL.
