I'm just getting around to reading the Feb Review where the top OB, agility, herding placements are listed from the National. Some very familiar German/Czech working and show kennels have sent dogs to the top competition. Kraftwerk, Wildhaus, Traumblick, Meerhout, Whirling Thunder, Austerlitz, Sontausen, Kreigerhaus, Nocturne, Majestic, Firethorn, Blackthorn, Leerburg. It's hard to tell by the names, but it looks like the vast majority of the GSD competing in those trials were GWL's and GSL's. Also 3, 4 Rin Tin Tin's.

Moving on to the new AKC titles -Jirkova Dvora, von Beluga, Tiekerhook, Eurosportu, Mittlewest, Blackthorn, Konigsdorf, Grunenfeld, Eichenluft, Nocturne, Banach, Bodyguard, von der Polizei, Jagermeister, Haus Juris, Silbersee, von Murrtal, on and on.

I love seeing so many German dogs competing in AKC venues. It will be interesting to see how many also have working titles. Since AKC will now list those titles on their pedigree, I'm assuming they will soon include them in their monthly title reports.

There is no one type GSD for all sports and there is no one sport for all GSD.

How many of the AKC GSD Herding dogs were IPO dogs and how many of the AKC Agility GSD were IPO dogs?  Smaller, lighter and faster GSD do well in herding, agility, flyball, and Ring sports.  The heavier, stronger and more aggressive GSD do well in KNPV and IPO.  The GSD is one breed with different tool sets for different sports and work.  I think if you look at the herding GSD in Germany few of them are IPO competitors in the BSP.
