I am a dog lover and currently my family is considering on adopting one, specially of the german shepherd breed. I have a close friend who currently has a couple of puppies... one from sire Solo de las acacias & Chela de las Acacias and the other puppy coming from Vigo de las acacias and Danka von maralf.
To be honest.. at this moment I do not plan on becoming a breeder, but would like to make the smarter desition as far as which puppy would be the best option and what's your thinking behind this desition. I apologize, I am not an expert... I have read a lot that the pedigree will not guarantee anything on what are you actually going to get... based on this database the first puppy seems to be the result of outcrossing with no close ancestry in the last 5 gens and the second one shows at least one.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Please give us a link to the puppy's pedigree or the breeder website.

Either breeding should give you a very nice pet and a good chance for good hips and temperament
They have a combination of well known Show lines and lesser known lines

Hello Jenni... the first puppy has not been registered yet...it's 3 weeks old... and the second will be born last week of February.. I am checking this database option of "mating outcome" and that´s how I learned about their acenstry.
Western Rider.. I appreciate your comment...so no clear "winner"?
I appreciate both of you on taking time to help me out!
Best regards!

For a pet, then no, no clear winner should be prety equal. All you have to do is see which one you like the most and if you can, get to know the mother as your pup will learn a lot from her.
You will have fun with either pup and have one that looks good too.

These links can be shared with others so they can view these pedigrees in one click and give input as well. I like that the first pedigree has more complete information given. Good Luck :)

If this breeder is experienced, he or she is usually the best person to match the puppy's temperament with what you need and want. I would listen to them when the time comes to choose.
Also, heed the above advice about the mother: the pups do learn from her!
My husband and I once visited a backyard breeder that had a litter of GSD pups. (This was back before I really knew anything about breeding, or I wouldn't have been there.)
When I asked to see the mother, I couldn't get close to her. She was hiding behind her owner's legs, barking!
Even at that time of my life, I knew enough about dogs in general to tell my husband we were LEAVING A.S.A.P!

Not knowing the breeder/s or being able to see the parents of either litter, my concern would be lack of titles, breed surveys, and no hip or elbow information on the second litter. Both pedigrees are essentially outcrosses. Seeing the same dog two times in the 5th generation isn't a big deal, his influence on the pup is marginal..

First of all I appreciate the time of the persons that were kind enough to leave the previous feedback.

As mentioned before both breedings belong to a friend. He's going to give a male puppy from any of these two breeding to my daughert as a gift. This will my family's first pet and we want to make the very best decision with the help of your experienced feedback.
Previously just by seeing the pedigrees I had a couple of inputs on no clear winner. Also received the very important feedback on knowing the mother of each of the pups... today was the day... the first was Chela... who was pretty nervous... I was told this is pretty common when a female has just given birth and still have their pups around her, not sure if being nervous is normal for a female which was a little bit reluctant to leave the kennel even if one of her pups was being shown outside to other people... I was surprise to find that a female pup was actually larger than even other male pups, is this normal? The pup that this friend was offering probably was the smallest and I noticed that usually was sitting or laying by himself at the back of the room... compare to the large puppy female who was ride besides her mother looking out and in front of the group did not feel to good about the option... we were able to see and carry some of the pups and only one of them cried a little bit and yes it was the one on the back of the room. As we do not have any experience... not sure if the previous comments should be considered to make the decision.. or if everything falls under a normal scenario.
In the other hand... Danka... when her kennel was opened.. she inmediatelly stepped out.. she seemed pretty calm and secure.. however her pups were still pretty small... they had just opened their eyes and they were just laying all together we picked a couple of them and the mother was cool about this and did not affect her... however the pups were to young to see them interact and try to find out about their character.
I apologize in advance probably for the silly questions but at 5 weeks what can you expect from a puppy? is it normal to have larger female than her sibblings? Do you think Danka would had been calmer due to the fact that her pups were still laying down and not walking?
Do we still have no clear winner? Thanks in advance for your taking the time and leaving your feedback.
