What would you say is the average puppy weight for a 9 week old male malinois pup. I know there will be some differences depending on size of parents(he was from a litter of 7 or 8 pups). Also looking to see roughly how much weight they gain per week. I've had my puppy for a week now and he has grown but hasn't gained any weight. Watching videos he looks to be a little skinner than the videos I see. He is on victor dog food and I will be switching him over to Orijen large breed puppy.

I don't know squat about Mals but if you just brought the puppy into a new home or kennel the pup is likely homesick. I would worm for 5 days in a row with fenbendazole (Panacur ai) at 5 mg per pound and then 3 weeks later repeat. Look at the pups stool and if it is solid and is not runny or showing blood then likely the pup is getting nutrition. I would spend as much time as possible just playing and getting the pups trust and building confidence. Maybe feed some high value treats out of your hand such as raw steak or liver bits. Many people seem oblivious to the fact that a puppy or an adult dog is terribly homesick and is missing their playmates or kennel mates, littermates and mother when sent to a new home or kennel. Puppies can become withdrawn and stop eating or simply hide in their crate until they feel confident. I once worked with children and took large numbers of them to a 1 week summer camp. About 10% would be homesick and want to go home but if you could get them to playing and eating and they made it thru the second day virtually none went home. Weigh the pup daily and if the pup is gaining weight then all is likely well .. if not then something is amiss.

Great advice Bubbabooboo...The problem is most people don't want to listen to good advice...
I only have one thing to add and that is...The weight of the puppy isn't important...AS LONG...as the puppy is Eating...Pooping...Playing (Active)...And is Parasite Free...
Like Bubbabooboo said whether or not you can tell it...Dogs do STRESS OUT...from changing homes and leaving their litter-mates and people...Spend a lot of time One-On-One with your new puppy...Play with them...and you can use Food Treats to begin a Bonding process...
As I said...Weight of the puppy isn't important (people will probably disagree with me) but what is important is that the puppy look correct (weight wise)...I don't like putting a NUMBER (weight scale) on a puppy or even a dog...I look at the dog and see how the are...Now...I will weigh a puppy a couple times a day from the day they're born and for the next 4 or 5 weeks...
