Could anyone give me any information on the Glarbo kennel?
My pups parents come from this kennel and I was just wondering what type of reputation this particular kennel and dogs from this kennel may have.
I am new to this and am trying to learn about all of this pedigree "stuff" so I figure the best place to start would be with my own pup.
Thanks for any information

Hello Raven, From a quick search on this data base it appears that Glarbo Kennels is from Denmark (BHP).The first dog noted is Glarbo's Afra dob 1984. The data base lists many dogs that have earned titles and have had success in national events. I like that they have used Nick vom Heilegenbocsh (sp?), Yoshy, Aron and Aly. The mother lines are strong and titled. What I find most interesting is that they have bred females with borderline and mild HD. But each time they did this they used a male with a1 hips.
I like this method if the female is very good in her working abilities. I would rather breed this type of female compared to a female with mediocre working ability with excellent hips?
To learn more I would start with google searches from your own pups pedigree. You should come up with BHP (=Sch) scores from trials and different kennels that have used them for breeding.
Good Luck,
Kyle

I imported two females from Glarbo Kennels in Denmark, some years ago. Both very quality females. Glarbo Yoyo was a black Fero daughter, Gildo granddaughter - extremely strong, serious working female. Glarbo Gina was a daughter of Fiasko, best son of Lord. Her motherline also included Ashra v Stoppenburger Land as did Yoyo's. Excellent motherlines. I don't know much about the kennel other than I got two excellent females with outstanding pedigrees from there that definately added to my breeding program.

Thanks for the information! It will be a long time before I will recognize the names of the other dogs in the lines like you can. That is one of my goals.....to learn why certain dogs like the ones you mentioned and mink...fero...troll...etc are notable dogs. I will have to spend a lot of time doing reasearch and talking to people.
I was told that my pup is all West German Working lines with some ddr way back....not enough to make a difference. Is how you would see this also?
Below is my pups parents pedigrees:

Ah yes - I hadn't looked before. Jaguar of course is from my program - her mother is Glarbo Yoyo that I mentioned before. Super working female (both Yoyo and Jaguar). Jaguar's littermates are all titled, strong working dogs. Jago (brother) is owned by Mark Chafin and has been trialed Nationally. The combination of Crok/Mink X Fero/Gildo is excellent for strong nerves, high drive, good aggression and excellent grips.
I also know the sire of your pup - super.

I've had the pleasure of watching Jago work in person and see my TD work him in a trial and that dog is AWESOME! He has great aggression and his courage test is sweet to see in person.

Thanks for the replies.
This pup has great obedience loves to track and seems like she may be on the serious side as well. I am very happy with her. She is 8 months old so we will see if I have the ability to train her.
Would anyone know of a way I could get some pics or vid of Jaguar?
Would love to see some pics or vid of Jago also.
Thanks again

Here are some pics on the High Plains site from the trial my club (Front Range Hundesport) put on of Jago. Scroll down to where you see the title "Mark". They are the first group of pics.
A little side note: I took the pictures.
