I'd be lying if I said this one didn't make me choke up a little...especially since the company's announcement last year that we wouldn't be seeing the Clydesdales this year [depending on which press release you believe...the one that said they were retiring the horses entirely, or the one that 'clarified' the first one as only meaning the company would be launching new horse-free ad campaigns aimed at the "Millenials" market].
But on seeing it, I can't help but wonder if there's some connection between the Bud ad and the GoDaddy ad, since they serve pretty much as a contrived 'compare & contrast' essay question for some type of market-share exam. If that were to turn out to be the case, it would make me pissed off, and I'd like the Bud ad somewhat less.

Uh, I thought the GoDaddy was a direct parody on the fairly famous Budweiser commercials???

Jenny, that's what I thought as well, that it was just a general parody of their previous commercials, but this year's Bud ad is just soooo similar to that wretched GDddy** one that it got me wondering if the whole thing could be an ad agency's newest master move in the manipulation of the public. You know, get the public up in arms and mad at the 'bad' corporation for their storyboard showing poor puppies being bounced around in the back of an open pickup as if they were pumpkins being hauled to market, and one even bouncing out of said truck completely unnoticed by the unconcerned driver, etc.; then once the black hat has been identified we're presented with the 'good' corporation's storyboard of another puppy who gets lost as a result of his own curiousity, with a more palatable outcome...so even people who have zero interest in the sporting event the ads will bookend have someone to root for and against--and perhaps even a 'redemption' ad for the black hat to close things out on the day of the game.
Not that such a thing would or should surprise anyone, if it were true. It will just piss me off if the whole thing is that contrived.
** Decided that using the actual name of the web hosting outfit just gives them more 'advertising'. So not gonna do it.

Hexe, I thought it was the other way around. We just happened to have the other one released first. I can't believe it could be like you're wondering, because ALL Budweiser's have been so similar for so long. It's the first Godaddy has done like that and it was supposed to be for Superbowl, where Budweiser has been reigning king for commercials, etc. I was quite sure of it until you got me wondering....
