Question: Does anyone know why the WDA has changed the date for their 2015 National IPO/FH Championship and Universal Sieger Show from May 8-10, 2015 to May 1-3, 2015? The WDA just made this announcement on January 8th, 2015 after the original dates had been published on their website.
The reason I am asking is the GSDCA 2015 National IPO Championship/Universal Sieger Show has been scheduled for the same weekend, May 1-3, 2015, since August 19th, 2014.
What this does is makes competitors chose one event or the other to qualify for the 2015 WUSV Qualifier to be held on June 6-7, 2015. With the events to originally be held on separate weekends it would have allowed competitors to compete at both events and double their chances to qualify. By doing this, competitors now only have one opportunity to qualify.
Not looking for mud slinging here, just the rational for making this change less than 4 months prior to the event.
Thanks

Christine thanks for your post. Is the WDA actually changing the date of their Championship to the exact same date of the GSDCA's event? If true; character, integrity and professionalism just went out the window and someone needs to hide their face in shame in my humble opinion.

Moved probably due to USCA WDC 2015 being on the 5/8 date.

Then having to keep, in this case a dog, at the peak of training for the whole time to attend two shows very hard. The goal is to have the best performance so you bring the dog to peak for ONE show to get the best results.
What is the difference in having an additional Sieger show added closely to another when that one has had an established time frame for many years.
Why not, if we are going to have three Sieger Shows have one every 4 months.
Why can't the IPO and Universal be spread out as well then all clubs can make the MONEY and the members can enjoy more shows.

Thanks Christine: I checked their website also yesterday. What will be, will be!

SKI:
Your thesis of apology for the date change sounds infinitesimally plausible but do you really, in your wildest and most grandiose dream, think that was the real reason? If so, you are probably the only person on this continent with that opinion. I am confident that you believe what you proposed and given that I have a nice piece of prime real estate about 700 miles off the east coast of Florida that I will sell you for a real bargain. I thought Rose colored glasses were been banned from the dog world in this country.
