Is anyone here involved in Ringsport with their GSD's? In a Malinois dominated sport, how does the GSD fair? Is it a fun sport?

The sport is quite challenging for both dog and handler. A "sterile" field like schutzhund, no distractions. Very tough on handlers for extra commands, body position/handler help. Commands in one language only. No mixing english with german. Heeling position is differnt than SCH. Most training heeling by having the dog lean in to the handlers leg. Not penalized for crowding but big point loss for separation. Infinately more decoy pressure vs. SCH. As for GSD, the jumps: hurdle, long jump, and palisade(wall)are tough on the larger dog. You are very correct that it is Mal dominated but fun to train and compete in with a GSD. The reality is that it is a "Mal" sport and you are at a disadvantage with a GSD. http://www.k9freeconnect.com/video/79df8608-c81c-436c-bad8-981b015e0719.htm A taste of French Ring.
