Reardon

by Reardon on 26 December 2014 - 14:12

I bought Xena when she was 13 weeks old. Her mom is registered but they didn't get the dad registered because it was going to cost more, as he was an older dog. However, the dad's parents are registered. For the life of me, I cannot remember the dad's parents names that the woman told me when I first got Xena, and have since moved and lost the woman's number. The woman's name is Tina.
I may be wrong, but I believe Xena's sire's name is Rocky (unregistered).
Out of my own curiosity, I'd like to research her lineage. I got on here because I'd like to know if anyone would possibly have Xena's dad's lineage information. I have some lineage info , but I just hate to see it go unfinished.
If anyone could help me out, you are more than welcome to respond or PM me.

I apologize, Xena's father's name is Buddy, NOT Rocky...I wasnt allowed to edit because the post is too old. Not sure of Buddy's owners names, but was told that the wife works at a vet clinic in Ft. Smith, AR. If anyone could possibly help out, I would so appreciate it. Thank you all!

Reardon, I'm sure there are many people on the board who wish they could help, but have you any idea how common both the names 'Buddy' and 'Rocky' are for large dogs like GSDs?  Sad Smile

I run a boarding kennel, and I see those names all the time.

Tracing a dog's lineage without a pedigree can really be difficult, even with more information than what you have. I adopted a GSD from a shelter. She was obviously purebred, and even had a tattoo. Do you think I was able to find out where she was from? Nope! Spent months posting the tattoo number on different websites and messageboards, and contacting breeders in the Eastern states.

Sunsilver,

Thank you for your response. Wow, tattooed and everything and no clues...? That's interesting. Yes, I absolutely agree with you...Buddy and Rocky, super common names! I just thought I'd take a shot and see if there was anyone who perhaps lived in the same vicinity, and hopefully knew who I was talking about. I understand that it's a long-shot, but I suppose it can't hurt to ask.

Xena is an awesome dog regardless; the lineage information is more so to feed my own curiosity. So, if I find it, I find it...if I don't, I don't. I just love history and ancestry! Again, thank you :)
