Looks more like a Blue to me.

I had a pupy that color who turned out to be a medium tan color. I don't think that puppy will stay gray JMO

Yep, I was thinking Blue also; maybe Jenni78 will chime in for comparison. ?? Terminally cute though, best of luck with them Nan

Nose is black, He is definitely gray just wondering how gray he will stay. I,ll get a different pic this weekend.

It'll be interesting to see how he colors out. DEFINATELY not blue. IMO anyway and I have had blue pups before.

I have red sables, grey sables and dark black sables...all in one litter.
I see some red on the leg..could go red sable.

Why, Bob, I do believe you have one of them there CHAMPAGNE German Shepard Dawgs!

by Hundmutter on 19 December 2014 - 06:12
Nah, never saw a 'Champaigne' that wasn't born dirty white, and stayed dirty white.
Bob, if you say the pup has a black nose, I will be fascinated to see how this one turns
out ! Is this the only one in its litter that colour, or are there others ? What colour are the
parents? Have only ever seen 'shades of mottled brown/grey' sable pups - but then I
am not used to the really dark sables so beloved of the US working scene. Nor in
the UK have we habitually mated sable x sable. So the 'blue' look (and it does look VERY
like Blue baby puppies I have seen) may be normal for some Sables, just of a type I'm not
used to. BTW I have read (Willis) of a 'silver' pup that turned out quite a normal black &
gold as an adult.

Of course, it could always be a 'Blue Sable' as distinct from a 'Grey Sable'
