I will try to word this better than my daughter did in her other thread that was deleted because it was considered an attempt at bashing. Hopefully we can get some valuable information about this dog and the thread will be considered eduactional and nothing else.

We are looking at a pedigree that is linebred on this dog, V Iltis von der Wildsau. ( I know the spelling is correct as I copied and pasted it from the pedigree on this site.) Since he has 72 progeny listed, hopefully their owners can educate us about what he produces by actual experience with their pups sired by Iltis.

Can anyone give information on the temperament, health issues and drives he has produced?   We are looking for the postive and negative as both are very important to a breeding program. PLEASE NO BASHING! That is not what this thread is about.

Interesting that a dog with 72 progeny listed and not one owner can give postive or negative information.  That in itself says alot, not necessarily about the dog edited by admin

I didn't see the bashing in the first thread, I really don't know the difference in bashing and constructive criticism about negative traits. I know some good and bad things I have seen from his progeny, but I won't give an unbalanced picture. Sorry.

Me stating that I heard something about the dog and asking if anyone heard or had any knowledge on it was considered bashing. Well that's what the admins consider bashing.

Hi Gustav,

You are right this had nothing to do with bashing and all to do with proof. They say they know dogs with weak nerve from IItis, well name those dogs so people will know which dogs are weak and will better be prepared to buy or decline. Also, if the mother line is known maybe just maybe members would have more to say about the weak nerve issue.

I knew IItis, met him and some of his progeny and not all or even most of his progeny that I met would be considered weak nerved.

Here is the title of the original thread stated as fact and not as a question. "Itlis Von Der Wildsau producing nerve issues"  The title is piss poor at best. And is not even the dogs name.

Then there is this statement on this thread " We are looking at a pedigree that is linebred on this dog, V Iltis von der Wildsau."  Last I knew weak nerves cannot be judged by a pedigree and if they have a pedigree then they also have a name.

Then there is this from the removed thread "I was told that Itlis produced nerve issues."  this is 100% hearsay, no proof, just I was told. It doesn't hold water of having a personal experience with a dog.

The TOS clearly states  8. make statements based on rumor or hearsay. This includes breeder bashing, which we define as negative comments not based on direct personal experience with said breeder. Be aware, posting an experience may give up your right to remain anonymous.

But instead of latching onto the the part of the TOS that applies they jumped right to being accused of bashing which was never the point of our action.

Then to send PMs to admin swearing at them and calling them pieces of shit is beyond acceptable and will not be tolerated.

I bought a Grand Son of "WOLF" several years ago.

He was an awesome dog. He was my first experience with a WL GSD.

He was a great dog until I wasn't working him enough.... hence he wanted to kill my Pot Belliy Pig one time... NOT HIS FAULT. It was my fault for not having an adequat job for him.

I sold him to my trainer that was frantic to get a hold of him!  BETTER for my dog!

Not to mention .. HE WAS STUNNINGLY beautiful and correct. If you've seen Iltis,  "Wolf",   WOW!  ..Ya I know you're not supposed to look at color or..but I thought he was an incredibley handsome dude!

Was fine with my cat's other dogs and very intellingent.

Hope that helps!  Black Sable , by the way

If you cannot go to a forum and ask questions about a dog's progeny I would like to know where you can go?  Really, what a shame.

And of course I commented also as to the heading of the post. It was very misleading...

Nan, look at gsdadmin above post...the title was not a question, but a statement and there fore looks pretty negative for the dog without substantiation, IMO.

If the original Thread on Iltis was removed, I wonder why it is being discussed here in details?  I had nothing to do with the first one, but created this one using a clearer topic line hoping to get educated on ONE particular dog.  Sadly this has been derailed to a deleted thread. SMH

Gustva, thanks for stating you did not see bashing on the first thread and dropped it at that. You have also stated that you do know some good and bad things about Iltis' progeny but will not give an unbalanced picture. I TOTALLY RESPECT THAT! It does confirm what we were told could be the same things you know.

Rebecca Tinsley, Thank you also for sharing your first hand knowledge with us. Like you said we should not look at color, but I Have to agree, if he had nothing else to share, he surely had good looks.

Nans, obviously you read farther than the topic line and realize what the purpose of the thread is. Thanks for understanding.

Joanro, the topic line on THIS thread is very objective and not an indication of anything negative at all. So I am not sure what your comment means.

GSD Admin, Thank you most of all for your sharing your experience on Iltis with us. It also confirms some of the things we were told. That is the whole purpose of the thread about Iltis, (spelled correctly).  for the ones like you to confirm the hearsay we have heard. Coming from you having actual experince is not hearsay and worth its weight in gold. Thats is awesome.

Thanks to those that have commented on this thread and in emails to us.  Now its time to re-evaluate our plans all because we could come here and emails to fnd out the truth. Very valuable learning tool to better the breed.
