I am planning my first litter with my female Briska. She is currently a SAR K-9 IT with my county sheriffs office (she is ready to test and certify, I am not :-/ ), She is two competition wins from being a UKC conformation champion, beat out a grand champion male to claim the first competition win. She is an alert service dog for me, was not planning on making her a service dog, just a happy accident that she started alerting. She has also had training in bite work as a start to see how she would do in IPO, her obedience is fantastic and I know she can track. I unfortunatly drive 8 hours round trip for the training as that is the closest club I trust with my dog. However complications with SAR training (she was not alerting properly, as she decided she should have the reward faster, like when she did bite work) and also winter setting in has put a brief stop on bite work. She has a fantastic temparament and a calm powerful presence. She is DM clear and I'm doing SV 'a' stamp with her sometime soon (of course if they come back bad, she will be scrapped as a breeder and keep working as she is as long as hips aren't too bad for doing SAR easily) Plans are to breed her to a male that I met while training bite work. He has a fantastic loving temparment but is a bad a@# powerhouse on the sleeve. I've chosen him based off some qualities I see in him that he shares with my girl and some things I love in him that my girl needs work on. Also I've met several of his progeny and they are fantastic. They have drive like their father, some are training for police work, sweet loving family dogs, he has a pup doing therapy and a pup training as a service dog. My plans for this litter are to reproduce the working qualities the parents have and I have two people needing service dogs. I also have a pup that will be going into a SAR home. All pups will be temp tested and placed in appropriate working homes. Super excited about the pairing based on what I know about the parents, but looking for other info that anyone has on the pair as far as pedigree. Constructive criticism is fine. I am a newbie but have studied and planned for a long time to get where I am so I'm not stupid lol, just need a bit more in depth info on pedigree flaws.

Good that you are showing so much concern about hip status, but I don't see info on the hips of the dam's half of the pedigree ?
Sorry can't comment, otherwise; obviously heard of Yoshy but the German dogs don't feature in pedigrees I know (in the UK), and the Ambred side is a mystery
to me.

Yes, unfortunatly her sires side is pretty hit and miss. Thank you for commenting. I believe they have hips scores but I'm not sure how to find out for sure. Her breeder turned out to be a dud, but she is fantastic and I'm excited to see what she produces.

Good luck with her results ! And if they are ok, here's hoping the planned litter is everything you hope for.

Thank you! Thanks for not being rude about the lack of info on the one line too. It does make me hesitant, but she has some good dogs in her lines and she is such an outstanding dog in head and structure I just don't want to scrap her as a breeder, especially if her hips pass.

apart from creating more puppies i don't see much in your description to justify the mating, not like the world is facing an under supply of neat litters.
but i have high standards to justify creating a litter, hardly anyone else does.

Why do you always have to say things like this, vk. There are plenty of GSD breeders with high standards. I'm still putting my money on your being a teenaged troll come here to insult and bait posters because you can. Adults don't act this way.

So do I usually but the OP won me round by his/her obvious thought about the matter, and because 3 pups are already spoken for.

Honestly, I don't mind criticism about creating more puppies, cause a lot of people do it for a lot of stupid reasons like 'it'll be fun' or 'I wanna make money' hahaha :-/ But every high quality breeder had to start somewhere and this was a five year plan in the making. I started learning about basic breeding and whelping, working with a local breeder to understand the breeding part. Then I started looking at the lines of GSDs I liked. Then I looked into things I could do with my dogs that would not only be fun for us but would show if they had the workability I wanted for my breeding program. Then I started looking for a puppy. I wanted to raise and train any of my dogs I use in my breeding program. I had a breeder picked out, got royally screwed, then found Briska's litter. I was extremely impressed with the parents and litter and Briska so I took a chance on her even though her Ped wasn't perfect. And I have four pups spoken for two service dogs, a SAR, and a farm dog lol. The farm dog will be on a working farm, but just a pet lol. I do understand there are a lot of GSD but there are still buyers in my area looking for quality working dogs and that's what I'm creating. Thanks for the responses.
