i'm new to the gsd community, but after doing a little research i think i made a great deal. i bought a dog sydney von boet der haus ( she's in here) about 6 months ago from a breeder. She is not the breeder of my dog, though. Sid was extremely timid, weighed 49 lbs.( She'll be 2 in april) i knew nothing about gsd when i baught her. Here it is, 6 months later and I have a friendly, outgoing, extremely sharp, high prey and play drive dog. And she weighs 68 lbs. I paid 300 for her. can any one else verify my great deal?

regardless of the deal melba, she is a very LUCKY dog by the sound of it, and you have brought out the best in her - well done

oh, and did i mention she had a litter of 10 puppies at 9 months old (accident, but she still sold the puppies for more then i bought her for) she's going to be ofa'd when she turns 2.

Sometimes inexperience affords a better chance at giving these 'not so perfect pups' a little time to catch up and show what they're made of. Sounds to me, Melba, that she'll do right by you because of your proud encouragement. (BTW--Sydney made the great deal.)

Nothing personal but people like you are disgusting to me and one reason so many dogs end up in rescue shelters are worse.
I know this is rude but you need to look good and hard at what you are doing.

DesertRangers, I don't think she's the one that bred the dog.

excuse me? you're telling me that by giving the dog a chance that no one else would give her is wrong??? all i wanted to know was if i wound up with something special. i plan to try to title her. it's fun for us both. i love my dog very much and sidney is very much a part of our family. she sleeps next to my bed every night after she gives my 4 and 5 year old boys a kiss good night. i had the choice between her and one of her puppies and she chose me. i also have a beagle/bassett (bagette) that i RESCUED from the pound at 8 mos. old. hes 5 now. And even if she never even gets her bh (which she will, because she's about ready) i would still love her. so please, you're preaching to the wrong crowd.

Yea right...you sure are proud of those pups...
I am pretty sure I have pegged you correctly...

no, i didn't. i would never, NEVER!!!!! breed a dog that young. that is completely irrisponsible. they're just babies at that age. people who do that disgust me
