One of my dogs were able to catch a squirrel and I let him eat it. Figured its more healthy than most dry dog foods these days. Just shot a deer and I'm going to smoke the legs for the dogs to eat as a special treat. My dogs like to eat wild game the best, especially when they catch it. What are your dogs favorite treats?

Uber special treats are.......Steak...medium rare.......Grilled salmon......Plain 1/3 lb cheese burger .
Wild rabit used to be on that list until I had to treat them for tape worms, now that treat is taboo.
Other than that they think all treats are special.

squirrel might be ok in the northern states but here in north Florida I wouldn't feed squirrel or rabbit with out it being thoroughly cooked. Way to many parasites. We feed raw store bought.

Not too keen on the idea of giving a large breed of dog any weight-bearing bones from a deer...for puppies and small breeds of dogs, they're probably safe enough, but a large breed dog will snap those deer legs in half in about two chomps, and deer leg bones shatter into sharp edges. Not worth the risk, IMO.

I use these as training treats:
raw chicken hearts, leftover cooked beef and chicken.

Chicken tenders from Church's or steak -rare. Steak is for the Awesome dog times (like getting a qualifying score in agility)

Hot dogs! the cheaper the better. Introduce to pup when they are very hungry and a pavlovian moment later they are hooked for life.

Taz has a strange liking for Rose petals. Has to be Roses, no other flowers will do.
They're free. too.
