Okay, right where you seem to trail off on your answer and you just basically kneel down and plead the 5th (but in religious terms) :)

When it comes to tainted humaity which was passed on through lineage, I have a few questions.

You claim that not only your, but our morality must only come from a higher place and without it, we'd just be wild animals, basically.  So, how do we judge what is morally correct when we know what suffering is and we know the consequences of imposing suffering on others, through empathy, and yet, in our understanding of empathy toward others, "God" seems to do the polar opposite?  And the only excuse for it, being that "He" is omnibenevolent is, "We can never know the mind of God!"  And yet, on any given topic, you know the mind of God?  You name attributes, admit that there are things contrary to said attributes, yet still claim "He" possesses them and we can't understand why he doesn't follow them????   How in Hell did anybody ever get anybody else to swallow that???  You either know "Him" or you don't!  If you can't know Him, you can't know Him.  Right?  Now, if that comes from God, why does this God seem to go competely against this and actually require suffering for, obviously, some more than others, if he actually possesses all of the qualities which you profess "Him" to have?  Omniscience, omnibenevolence, omnipotence, specifically.  And yet, you dismiss the unimaginable pain and torture of a select few people in this world who never make it much past babyhood and you simply dismiss this by stating that his motives are "unknowable"?  You allow your beliefs to impose rules that are contrary to human nature and then turn around and punish you for that very nature and then, convince you that it's okay because your nature is understood, but you can impose these same rules, that you yourself admit are impossible to follow, on those who do not share your beliefs?

And you seriously think atheists need medication?  I"m not being smart alecky here, I'm asking a serious question.  There is not a "mainsteam Atheist" with whom I agree on all issues, but Sam Harris is the owner my favorite quote:

“We are being offered a psychopathic and psychotic moral attitude… it is psychopathic because this is a total detachment from the, from the well-being of human beings. It, this so easily rationalizes the slaughter of children. Ok, just think about the Muslims at this moment who are blowing themselves up, convinced that they are agents of God’s will. There is absolutely nothing that Dr. Craig can s—can say against their behavior, in moral terms, apart from his own faith-based claim that they’re praying to the wrong God. If they had the right God, what they were doing would be good, on Divine Command theory.

Now, I’m obviously not saying that all that Dr. Craig, or all religious people, are psychopaths and psychotics, but this to me is the true horror of religion. It allows perfectly decent and sane people to believe by the billions, what only lunatics could believe on their own.”

If this "God" is omnibenevolent, how can "He" possibly allow the kind of suffering that the vulture/emaciated child photo brings home?  That, in itself, is contradictory, because "He's" also omnipoent, so the same goals could be achieved, at his whim, with NO suffering?  And if the "gift" you're living for is that it all ends and there's nothing but perfection, "He" could have made it perfection from the start but chose to teach us a lesson in order to "earn" life we can never prove exists?  You want people to fall in line and give up their joy, their happiness, their "soul" for that gamble and think nothing of it?  To just accept that we're made imperfect, by a perfect being, because that being has "reasons that we can't understand" because we're evil?????  And in the end, it's even contradictory in what you're supposed to be in your "earthly life".  If you're supposed to be completely selfless in order to achieve the highest spot in heaven, why aren't you giving up your seat for someone else?  If eternal salvation is your goal, that's about as selfish as it gets!!!  Rats in a maze.

You give me a good answer to that question, without avoiding it, and you could convert me today :)

Travels~ I am quite humbled by your post as it seeks answers to some of the most difficult theology, and is beyond, and perhaps challenging to my intellect when it comes to expressing myself clearly and accurately using the written word. There is another that I would prefer answer, but sadly he is not here. As is a well know fact I am not the savviest with the written word, but I will try nonetheless to respond to the above post to the best of my ability. You ask some questions that I don't have answers to myself.

I will be back in a bit I have things going on,,

btw  Reggie ~ I would like you to recconsider publicly answering Travels, for the edification of us all,,,Would you think on it? :)

Gouda ~ unreal! What you sense in both of the above mentioned ^ is wisdom,  and I feel saddened that you see that as a threat ; opposed to a blessing,,,

John I haven't spoke bad to you and this is the way your respond to me?  You are saying that God speaks personally to you?  And he did so about me?  Interesting.  Do please tell me what he said about me.  He would know all about me, so what did he warn you about me.  He would know specifics.

He said you are colluding with the Devil himself, Gouda see demons everywhere and he believes he's here to warn you, as the resident "Watchman".
