Good day again all;
Once again I find myself back here asking for a little more help with showlines. This time I will be much more specific so as to help narrow some search areas down.
Of the more proven showlines out there today, which are the motherlines to really look for? I remember dogs like Cello Romereau (sp), Hoss Hasenborn etc..but have no clue what lines today are actually producing strong working ability. It is fairly easy to find a decent male, but a strong female...?
I am not above importing again, but would like to give my fellow Americans a shot when it comes time to purchase a puppy. So fill me in, which females are producing super health, and great nerve and working ability?
Thank you in advance again for your time and comments. Kennels that were recommended in my earlier thread about showlines have been listed and filed for now..I can refer back to them when I have a decent list of strong producing females. I plan on attending a couple of the bigger shows in our country this year as well, so I should be able to get an idea of what females are bringing what I want to the field...I hope ;)

This was a question I asked some German friends on my last trip. The general response was there are good working females from all lines. It's an individual assessment as you get good and bad in every combination.
Taking this concept a step further there are certain lines I expect to produce better working ability than others. When I see dogs from these lines in the pedigree, I tend to think it's genetic and there's a better chance to perpetuate the ability in future generations.
Working ability is a relative term. What someone wants in a sport dog is not always the same thing one would want in a police dog.
Some dogs I like to see close in a pedigree. Quartz Templari, Vando Moorbeck I pay real close attention to. There are many honorable mentions.
You may want to talk to some of the expierienced helpers around the country. Females that work well usually stand out and are remembered. Helpers have excellent insight to what's really inside a dog.
