Contact Eric Luke and he can probably give you as much info as possible on him. Eric has been very helpful in answering questions for me on Canto and other info Eric Luke www.zwischensee.com eluke@mts.net

I have heard nothing but good things about Canto and have had him recommended for me to use for my program - he is located just about as far away as it is possible to get before Alaska (for me) - in western Canada (Manitoba I believe). The contact info for his owner Eric Luke is above - molly

We have a 15 month female in our club out of Canto. I feel pretty confident talking about what Canto may bring to the table as my bitch and Cabre in our club who are sch3 all have the same mother. Sartoris Hekla. The mother is a very good tough bitch. The 15 month female is incredible for her speed and will not be a dog that you want to follow in a trial in OB. Having the half sister I truly wish I had gotten even a bit of Eyko's hunting drive in tracking. She is very calm and guidable. A definate there if sport is in the future for the pups. Protection is extreme in Canto and I say that after having spent many a weekend at their club. I can"t truly say how much defence he has because he is so aggressive in his prey that it just never shows up. Sort of like a young Mike Tyson. One great thing he added to the young bitch is a pain threshold. She is easy to correct and just goes back happily to work. A definute plus after the half brother and sister who had the Korbelbach pain thresholds. I would not hesitate for a Canto puppy. Just remembered that the 15 month's old brother started the streets as a PSD for the Vancouver Police a few weeks ago. -- Hope this helps --Bob

Molly, he is not that far. Just northwest of Minneapolis about 7 driving hours. Only 1 hour by plane. Winter breedings should have the bitch sent with long underwear as Winterpeg is REALLY, REALLY COLD. --Bob

7 hours northwest of Minneapolis is VERY VERY far from me. Way too far to drive - but perhaps shipping in warmer weather - wish it were not so expensive to ship nowadays. :( molly

Molly, You appear to be spoiled. Up here in the Great White North we travel 8 hours to get just anywhere. That is not even considered a road trip. Ha Ha. --Bob

Bob... Hahahahaha god bless the great white up north! Grew up in Minnesota 18 years there. Was just home for 3 weeks visiting. I do recommend sending long underwear with the bitch if you fly here it will sure be a climate shock! HAHAHAHAHA And yes it really isn't that far only 7 hours NORTH of the twincities metro area. Just far enough north to be even colder then Minnesota. And sadly to go anywhere there esp. dog related it is a drive. Not much of a road trip though!! Staying Warm in Virginia! Shannon

Bob - 8 hours is nothing for certain. But 8 hours plus the 18 or so hours to get to Minneapolis, is a little bit far for spoiled types like me LOL. Molly (who lives in south-central PA)

Molly. Now were talking just of a good old road trip. I will have 2 1000 mile trips for nationals and regionals this year. They are both still in my province. Just normal road trips from here. Sure teaches one to drive fast and drink very little. Helps to have little naps while driving. --Bob
