I have always been partial to caucasian ovcharakas, some are quite civil and territorial.  Dog shows to save the breed...LOL.  I hate to say it but the fights stand a better chance of doing that then any show.

JMO but I don't think the breed will be saved / prolonged by either fighting or show-breeding.

What would preserve it but in smaller numbers would be for only the people who have enough

of the right sort of space etc, preferably with some sheep,  to be able to buy, breed or own an

Owtcharka.  They are rapidly falling victim to the "gots-to-have-a-dog" / "gotta have the latest

trendy dog" syndrome, where folk with more money than sense take dogs into situations that

are no good for them, and usually without any due diligence about the breed's needs or its

traits.  Hence those city dogs locked up in yards in the video.

Haven't yet worked out a way to compel that !   But if someone could, it would save a lot

more than one breed ...
