not that would ever admit to a dog's color being a selection criteria but those mali with the black points look awesome.

how do i get started learning whats what in mal peds and what colors come from what lines?

i heard mal folks generally don't have to become genetic scientists, lawyers and vets  to buy a puppy like gsd buyers have to be, kind of just shut yr eyes stick yr hand in the pen and grab a puppy, most likely be a worker no matter what you randomly pick.

believe it or not but it is hard to find a good malinois, many available but not a lot of good ones, that is why I started to breed malinois and buy pups, people can say what they want but it is still far more easy to find a good GSD for police or army work, than a malinois, especially pedigree malinois 

the dark colours are in certain lines but best look at the individual pup

Are you seeing the Mali going to higher and higher prey drive levels too?

many malinois I test have nerve problems and/or lots of prey but no courage or civil at all, they will  perform well in a program that they know (IPO etc)   but not in the real world

also on searching many malis go by the eye, all single purpose detection dogs I have here right now are german shepherd, 2 clients want only malinois for detection, really have to look hard to find those also

That's what I've been noticing on the work side as well.
