I was told this female was all DDR lines. However, after looking a bit more I am not sure. And then I had someone tell me that she isn't all DDR, so now I'm really unsure. Anyone with info on any of the dogs in this girl's pedigree please share. I'm still learning about lines and I think I might have made myself confused. Any and all info will be very much appreciated.

The mother line is West German. Does it matter to you ? All of them are German Shepherds...

Okay, that was what I was thinking too. But wanted to be sure I was seeing it right since I was told she was DDR. No, it doesn't really matter that much, I just wanted to know if I was told wrong or if I was reading it wrong. Thanks.

It would be a big red flag for me if someone was selling me a puppy and claimed it was XXXXX lineage and then upon looking at the pedigree I found out it was XYXYZ pedigree.  I would wonder if the seller was lying, misinformed, lacking knowledge etc and if they were not familiar with their own pedigrees, how knowledgeable might they be about other dog things, like proper care, socializing, drive identification, etc- Knowing the pedigree seems to be basic fundamental dog breeding 101

I agree. I think the owner of this female is not educated. He is a newbie breeder (so am I) and I think he may have been told she was DDR but he must not have looked at her lines like I have been. I'm still new and learning all I can about the lines in the pedigrees. But in reality I just was curious for my own research. I highly doubt he will care if I tell him that she is not full DDR. He struck me as a know it all type that didn't like to be corrected.

To the Poster:  If the pedigree of the v Tale dog is right on the change history as the owner of the female of the dog you are asking about  , he posted on this thread and many others about DDR dogs...so go read this thread and see if that is the same person you got your dog from..

May help you learn why he said it is or is not or if he or she is the owner of your female...good thread anyway

I like your dogs pedigree...west german dogs do go back to some awesome dogs ..I know..my foundation was Cadett v Buseckerschloss..

You have some mixture in your pedigree but it is a nice pedigree for sure

Edelmann   Are you seeking out DDR lines ? seems like there is a kennel in eastern Canda into that in  case you are.

Thank you for that info Yellowrose! Rose is my females mother. I bought my girl with intentions of breeding her if she was successfull in what I wanted her to do. I bought her on a whim knowing a few of the dogs in her line. I have since learned more about lines (still learning) and was curious about if I was wrong that she wasn't full DDR. So far my girl is crazy good lol. Almost ready to certify as a SAR K-9 for my county sheriffs SAR team. She has also started training for PP and has crazy fight drive. She is working as a PSD for me (my other service dog hurt his back and was paralized for a while so he retired) and she has an amazing calm demeanor when she isn't chasing a guy in a sleeve. She is also two competition wins from getting her UKC conformation champion title. She won Best of Breed over a grand champion male her 2nd show. So all in all even if Rose isn't full DDR her daughter is the best dog I've ever owned lol ;) Thanks for the responses.

I will be adding another girl to my home sometime next year. I am actually deciding whether to try for a full DDR or a full West Working line. My current girl is a mash up, but wonderful. I might be keeping one of her daughters, if her hips come back good and I do breed her.

Sound good to me..you are working in the right direction...Just have some mentors who know what they are advising you and make sure you do lots of watching other top breeders and those who are experienced...Watch Health issues carefully also.

do not be afraid to ask tons of questions...about the parentage, health, titles, references and ways to train and evaluation of pups when the time comes...

GOOD luck...  I like very much some of your dogs in back generations and they do matter...
