I was planning on doing a October 1 st breeding with my Male Cruise. His father Axel is 14 and I have a young female Flix in heat but too young to breed Well I had not considered this breeding but The way Axel was chasing her around I had to put him up becasue he was con pestilently getting her cornered and ungentlemanly advancing on her. I did,nt think he still had it in him but he was really giving it the old collage try I was impressed.
This would be the breeding of Axel and my Female Elsa

Bob,
I made the link click able : http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/breeding.result?father=509123&mother=643087
I don't know enough about bloodlines to comment on your cross but my thoughts about breeding your senior male are this. Just because he acts like a young stud doesn't mean he can complete the job and I'm not talking about whether he's physically capable. Have you tested his sperm count and mobility? If you've tested him and think he can physically complete the job then I say go for it. I've never understood why some people think that just because a dog or stallion is a senior that he shouldn't be bred if he's willing, able and healthy.
Anyway, that's my opinion. Good luck.

Motility is the term, as opposed to mobility, concerning his sperm.
If everything is good Bob, I'd say go for it.

Is this a repeat? You have any input from owners on a prior breeding?

Nice pedigree; Love the structure of g dam "Callie" and others great also. Agree to have sperm count done for viability. And consider that this would be your last chance for that breeding to take place. I say go for it and good luck. Nan

I havent looked at the pedigree link yet, so I can no comment on that. There is one thing that popped into my head. You will not be able to get AKC papers on this litter, as the sire is over 12 years old.

How can that be, If you can get papers on dogs born from sires that died decades ago?
