RCMP K9 Officer Amongst 3 Slain - Page 1

The funeral for the three RCMP officers slain in Moncton was held today, and televised on TV. Yes, it does happen in Canada, too. Not nearly as often as in the States, but we do have our share of lunatics.

This was the picture that moved me the most. The dog actually marched in the funeral procession, behind his handler's hearse.

The Mounties know how to do things right...

Heartbreaking.....

As three fallen RCMP officers were laid to rest in Moncton on Tuesday, touching tributes and moving images were shared about the men, and the roles they played at home as well as on the job.

Thousands of Mounties who had come from coast to coast to coast were in attendance, wearing the sharp, red serge symbolic of Canada's national police force. Images of emotional officers mingled with photos of tearful family members.

Among the most touching scenes, however, involved a partner of another kind – an image of Danny, Const. David Ross's canine partner.

In a photo captured by the Canadian Press moments before the funeral, the German Shepherd can be seen standing on his back legs, sniffing the brim of the Stetson from Ross’ old uniform.

The scene is enough to bring a grown man to tears all over again. Police dog and his handler: Partners, each loyal, faithful and loving to one another, now separated. Danny may not understand where his partner has gone, but he seems to understand that something is lost.

Too bad Bourque didn't blow his own brains out afterwards....no death penalty in Canada.

 Every time you have feeling like that you do not like  cops - remember these and others killed in line of duty and give them a brake ! If you do not like them at least respect them. 

When I was making the post above I was gathering info via Google and I goggled "4 cops shot in..."

 and I got :

4 cops shot in Indianopolis,

4 cops shot in NYC

4 cops shot in oakland

 4 cops shot in wasington

SO terribly sad what this world has become.  So many innocent lives lost . . . and so many wonderful men and women dying trying to protect the rest of us.
