Someone on this bulletin board posted that it can take up to six months to register a dog from Czech Republic in the AKC. Is that true? What are your experiences? What about Slovakian imports to the USA, transfering the registration into the AKC? I know a lot of you here have this experience. What if the exporter is not an extremely experienced person/kennel in this process? Thank you in advance for your experiences and reccomendations.

Sorry, I did not see the further posts in this topic. I can see that others say that it does take six months. Thank you.

The 6 months is to get the export pedigree from Czech Republic. After that you send it to AKC. They don't take that long, a few weeks to 2 months or so. So total time from arrival of dog to dog register it with AKC is at least 8 months. If you have a litter in the mean time it's a special litter registration form.
Harley, you were darn lucky :}

I've had three import puppies from the Czech republic in the past four years. One took six months to get the pedigree and the last two have taken about three months. Once you get the certified pedigree, AKC takes no more than three weeks. this has been my experience.
