This Ridgeback / Great Dane is infested with Cordylobia Anthropophaga / Mango Worms, a type of Bot Fly.
The Vet Clinic in Gambia says "Dogs must not sleep on sand. You have to make grass, tiles or concrete for your dogs to sleep on."
If a larva finds a host, it will penetrate the skin and take 8–12 days developing through three larval stages before it reaches the prepupal stage.

The tumbu fly is endemic to the tropical regions of Africa, south of the Sahara desert. Myiasis caused by C. anthropophaga is the most common cause of myiasis in Africa but can be seen worldwide because of air travel, as human movements carry infestation outside endemic areas.[7]

Poor dog looked like bubble wrap! I liked the doctor insisting that the owner help express the worms...the owner said no I will throw up...the doc said. So throw up, & then press out some more worms. Yes it's nasty, so wash your hands afterward. It won't make YOU sick like its making your dog! Owner wouldn't, doc even tried bribing him with $5.00, to see that he would get what his dog was going through. People are the root of all evil for dogs! jackie harris

Everything gets those parasites south of the Sahara, and in other tropical zones, including People too. The eggs are too small to see when they first bore in, they grow under the skin's surface, and it can take as little as 10 days for a dog to get infested like that. People are told to iron their clothes before wearing them to kill any potential eggs. These worms are nicknamed the "Man Eater" for a reason. They have them on a multitude of both domestic and wild animals. Lucky, after getting over the inicial disgust, maybe owners will act more quickly as soon as they see the bulges.
