I want a female who is red/black, or all black.
Also I would like thick legs/ thick body .
Larger female
2 1/2 feet tall and around 4 feet long.
I do love a muzzle similar to a Czech Gsd would have.
I'd like good proportions
a decent size head.
Just mainly to be intimidating for intruders.
I'm not looking for breeders with bad reps. I do intend on keeping the dog for its full life span so please do not advise on a breeder if it does have reviews of genetic defects after 6+ years. Also please no hip problems from the breeder.
I love her look

Cilla, the dog you posted is a German showline, not difficult to find.
You seem to be looking for an adult dog, although you asked for a pup - Did you take a look at the shelters/pounds? A lot of good dogs end up in shelters because people don´t know enough about the breed. You´d save a lot of money, and do a good and honest deed during the same time.
As long as you don´t want to breed pedigrees are not important, and no breeder is able to guarantee health in a 6+ years old dog. That said, a healthy dog out of the pound might be able to become your best companion. Spayed/not spayed shouldn´t be important - the character doesn´t change.
Good luck!

I have checked pounds and shelters. And have not found any luck! ( I checked for older dogs there)
I would like a puppy but that will grow more less looking similar to this female. ( I know some people keep track of how breeders pups look as older).
And the health thing I'm not looking for a warranty other than if the dog has bad hips at the age of 2 years. But I have read some bad reviews on some breeders that as pups the dogs are fine but when they get to around 6 years of age their dogs have genetic defects. I think some of the defects are from in line breeding. But if anyone has had a purchased a dog from a breeder and this has happened please let me know! It would be greatly appreciated.
I recently lost my male Gsd (around thanksgiving) he was my pride and joy. I had him as a pup and he did last to be 13 years old. His health was amazing and he had excellent hips as well. His temperament was amazing!
We recently spayed my 9 year old female Gsd and her temperament changed a bit (which I expected) but she's not as protective of the house. Also when we spayed my male Gsd when he was 4 years old his temperament changed a bit but it was in a good way. He still kept aggressiveness on protecting the house but he was not as aggressive on protecting the house as he used to be.

Several people on this board are involved in rescuing German Shepherds. Hopefully they will know about a dog for you.
It´s worth a try! You sound like the perfect dog owner.
Did you take a look at "rescues" on this board? Even shipping wouldn´t be as expensive as buying, and again, it´s a good deed.

the 9 year olds attitude also may have changed to a degree just because she was getting older. I know that has happened with my Doberman as they got older. and with my current Doberman he had an attitude change when the dog he was raised with died, it improved some when we got our first shepherd but never quite the same.

Do you plan on any training?

Cilla, sent you a PM about a dog I know who *might* be for sale who is as you describe, to a "T".

I do plan on getting the puppy professionally trained there is a man who does work around base and trains dogs amazing. He costs a bit but he's worth it.
And I haven't tried a rescue group on here yet.
I'm not sure how to use this site would it be under classifieds?
My 9 year old female she had some issues when
We got her. She was 5 years old. The lady we got her from was down right evil to her. You could almost see everyone of her ribs. Her fur was bleached from the pool. They used to beat her for
Going in the pool. She was real hesitant and aggressive towards people. especially males.
It took working with her every day for a year then
She was good to where we could bring kids around her (only if we were there with them). Then we lowered it to every other day and every 3 days. Now it's 4 years and my little cousins can go outside with no problems and try to play with her. We love her so much. She loves car rides that's prolly the only thing and eating that hasn't changed.
I'd be willing to do the same thing to do the same thing with the new female I'm going to get. She's real healthy now.
I love animals so much and want my son to
Have a pup to grow up with as well.

The dog you posted I believe is owned by Alta-Tollhaus (same breeders as my 5 year old male). Maybe she has a litter coming up.
2.5 feet is actually really huge for a GSD, the standard is more like 24".
You will probably never find a breeder that's never had any "hip problems" but if you want a guarantee, you should buy an adolescent or adult dog that has been x-rayed.

I was actually waiting on her litter she recently had around April 26. She was bred to V24 maffey vom quarter Latin. However, Julie informed me that she did have a small litter and there were no females available.
Who are the parents of your 5 year old male if you don't mind me asking?
I've heard nothing but good things about Julie and her dogs :)
Was she good with matching up the qualities you asked for? How was your males temperament :) I live in texas and trying to find a breeder here is ridiculous it's like every major one I think is good the Reviews are 70% horrible.
