Well, I have gotten mixed reviews on these ranging from "good" to "fair" to "dysplastic" - some of the most extreme (Good and Dysplastic) reviews are from individuals I know are not just shooting B.S. but have some experience reading x-rays. I am bamboozled. My own take was "fair" based on coverage of the right hip but I have not reviewed so many to consider my opinions to be of much value in this regard. :).
I realize the x-rays are not perfect (pelvis tilted side to side [look at how the spine is not centered and left leg appears bigger than right leg] and leg rotation[kneecaps]) but the position issues are not extreme. Would appreciate other insights while waiting from the OFA and also realizing from day to day you may get a different interpretation from the OFA.
Goals is not breeding. He is a young (2.5) certified cadaver dog who I want to work as long as possible. There are no issues with movement and he can work for hours.
EDIT for the sake of comment I assume the hip on the left is the right hip but I have to get back to the vet to see if the image is reversed. There appears to be a "L" marker n the Left side of the image but then it would need to be flipped. Thank you for any insights.

I see absolutely no reason that this dog shouldn't at least get a fair, more likely a good.

I am thinking fair due to the fact that the marked "L" side on the left hand side of the screen is somewhat shallow; however, not shallow enough to not keep him working for a long, long time. Best of luck Nan

Well, this is unusual I think, but the backwards L marker is on the left hip. She said the x-ray was upside down and they reversed it. Not that it really makes any difference. Plans are to talk with a local rehab vet about best things to keep all those muscles tight.

At least one half of EACH hip is tightly seated within the socket. IMO neither is shallow.

Hips are absolutely fine. Why do people who have no idea what they're talking about go around scaring the bejesus out of people? LOL

Those hips look fair to good, either way, they will get a passing grade.
No need to worry
Let us know the results, thanks for posting, love looking at hips!

Will update when I get results. To me that is part of the learning! The more you see the better you get at figuring out what to look for.
