Anyone know why they are selling this dog? I see he competed in Nationals in November, now in January is on a new kennel's website in ID and now is posted for sale again? I have a vested interest as I have a son of Zico. One of the best puppies I've ever had by the way.

Perhaps you should try emailing them and ask.
Of course we know many are always jumping to conclusions on here so best way to find out is asking them yourself.
Rob Dunn spoke highly of the dog so not sure. I thought maybe the ad was a stud ad.

I know he was sold - he is for sale again?
by eichenluft on 01 February 2007 - 06:02
I'll answer my own question - Vianden is his new owner, the ad posted for Zico is for stud - I can say he is an excellent working dog with balanced drives, super grips, stable nerves and perfect temperament. Impressive working dog for sure.

Maybe I misread the ad and just asumed he was for sale. It doesn't say on the ad itself.

Zeke went to Charlotte Thomas in ID to retire. I absolutely love Zeke, but to be completely honest, it broke my heart to hear him bark, and scream when I left him to go to training. I have a new young dog that needs a lot of my time. I just lost my dog Sirk a couple of months ago and was not emotionally ready to move Zeke into the house. We have some very good dogs from him here, and before I sent him, we had him collected and will use him for breeding with some of our females. He will NEVER be sold again and if for some reason Charlotte cannot keep him, he will come immediately back to live with me. Some might not agree with my decision, but ultimately I felt it was best for him. I really miss him, but I know he went to a super home and will still be available for stud. I hope this clears up the matter. Rob Dunn

Good morning Rob;
I would like to just take a moment to say Thank You for thinking of the best for your dog!
You are a HELL of a man! I am sure it was not easy decision, but one you made with a very heavy heart, and with nothing but your males quality of life in mind. So many others would have simply tossed him out in a kennel and just collected the fees from breedings.
I hope Zeke has a large of a heart as you do..and I am sure he does!
I wish there were more like you within this breed!
Best wishes with your up and coming dogs, and in all that you do!

Thank you to all for the nice comments. It was a terribly difficult morning when I took him to the airport. The good thing is he is happy and doing super in his new home. Charlotte sent me photos of him playing in the snow the afternoon he arrived in ID. Zeke truly taught me a lot and I will always have a special place in my heart for him. Rob
