I´m reading and writing here for several years now, but almost all of you I never met, and most possibly, will never meet.
Some of you became "friends", as far as online friendship even is possible - but I often wonder about people, who are you in real?
Some questions came to my mind - maybe some of you will answer, I´ll start.
1. What´s your favorite breed?
2. When did you get your first working dog?
3. How many dogs do you own?
4. Do you train, title, show your dogs?
5. Are you a breeder? How many litters did you breed already?
6. Do you keep your dogs or do you sell them, if they don´t meet your personal standard?
7. Do your dogs live in the house or do they live in a kennel?

2. In the age of 16, 34 years ago ( my grandparents always owned German Shepherds, my first "own" dog was a Dalmatian )
3. Only one right now - I used to own 2, and trained one or two occasionally, but never competed on a high level besides the show ring
4. Always ( no surprise, I´m member of the German SV - my current male is the first dog without any "official" titles due to pesonal reasons
5. I never bred a litter in my whole life
6. I sold two of my self raised dogs, and I still regret it
7. I used to have kennels, but my "personal" dogs always lived in the house with me ( my male is snoring right now )
That´s me - different people - different countries - different agendas - and different cultures.
It´s not about good or bad, it´s just for information, nothing else!

1. What´s your favorite breed? American bulldogs.
2. When did you get your first working dog? My first dog that i trained was a boxer, my second was a boxer pit bull, third was a americna bulldog hound, and i've also had 5 american bulldogs. I've been ativly training for over 20 years. And a member of an all breed training club for 20 years.
3. How many dogs do you own? Currently 1
4. Do you train, title, show your dogs? I train my dog in obedience, agility, IPO, lure coursing, and i want to try Barn Hunts. I have also shows my dogs in conformation and gotten 2 championships so far.
5. Are you a breeder? How many litters did you breed already? Ihave only had one litter of Americna bulldogs, and i co-bred 1 litter.
6. Do you keep your dogs or do you sell them, if they don´t meet your personal standard? I kept 1 male puppy from the first litter and got back two of his sisters. 1 i placed with another breeder (The mother of the litter i co-brerd) and the other female we kept till she and her brother passed a way.
7. Do your dogs live in the house or do they live in a kennel? My dogs live in the house with me. Misquitoes are so horrid here in florida i think it's cruel to leave a dog outside 24/7

I´d love to meet you and your dogs, a breed almost unknown ( and not wanted by law ) in Germany.
A lot of prejudices over here - would like to learn more about this breed !

6. Do you keep your dogs or do you sell them, if they don´t meet your personal standard? 99% of the time I have kept them; only one I gave away, as our life and her personality did not match
7. Do your dogs live in the house or do they live in a kennel? Both; depends on weather, current activities, dog

1. What´s your favorite breed?
The German Shepherd Dog.
My first GSD (Gidget) used to herd me around the backyard when I was in diapers.
My mother tells me stories about her and I. One in particular, sticks in my mind. I had just learned to walk and my mom and I were in our front yard gardening...well she was....I was playing in the dirt...LOL...anyway I toddled away from her....Gidget who was laying in the shade observing our gardening efforts until I moved away from my mom decided I was getting to close to our neighborhood street....So she grabs me by my diaper and drags me (screaming of course) back over next to my mom.
2. When did you get your first working dog?
I got my first GSD as an adult in 1990.....Sasha. She was an American bred dog with lots of working and show titles in her pedigree.
Three years ago, I got my first working line GSD.....Cisco.
3. How many dogs do you own?
(3) two working line GSD's and one Chow lab X...our old lady :)
4. Do you train, title, show your dogs?
Yes, I trained and titled my first working dog to his BH and AD (yes I know they aren't titles, but tests) and he was well on his way to certifying as a Wilderness SAR dog when we discovered a growth on the disk between his L7 & S1...he was 21 months old. We removed the growth, and after having the pathology done three times the Ortho specialist finally concurred, the tissue was not a tumor but, cartilaginous scar tissue. Unfortunately, this left him with nerve damage and a weakened disk. I retired him from SAR and SchH training, we still train, but I'm careful with him, he's not allowed to jump hurtles or do the A-frame. I'm working on getting his RH1 and Stp. He love's to track but tracks like a SAR dog so we wouldn't get very high scores for FH, but we still work at it.
The second dog Ava, is now a year old (almost 3-11). She was to be Cisco's replacement for SAR work, but she is doing so well in SchH training that I've decided to focus solely on that with her. My trainer/helper love's her...says he hasn't seen a female with her levels of drive and aggression in a long time. I don't want to jinx myself but my goal is to train her to be the Champion I know she can be....fingers crossed :)
5. Are you a breeder? How many litters did you breed already?
I've never been a breeder per say. I did breed a litter of Rottwielers when I was a teenager (18). I bought a really nice...or so I thought....female with many ShcH titles in her pedigree and bred her with the nicest male I could find. Boy is that a story to tell....another time. I haven't bred another litter since.
6. Do you keep your dogs or do you sell them, if they don´t meet your personal standard?
I keep my dogs until mother nature decides it's time for them to go.
My personal standard is that my dogs are with me for life no matter what....guess I'll never be one of the big guys.
7. Do your dogs live in the house or do they live in a kennel?
My dogs live in the house with me.
They are crated or kenneled when I go away during the day and at bedtime.

personally i am against the concept of breed purity, my current dog looks like a german shepherd but has no papers but his grandsire is infamously known to not be a purebred, he was used all around the world breeding purebred GSD tho.
2. When did you get your first working dog?
14yo, we were in the stock camps on the big runs de-stocking feral cattle in a remote area that had been deserted for a generation and the gov had a tuberculosis eradiction program in place, we were given a contract to take what we could in a set time frame and the rest were to be shot from helicopters. the stock were multi-generational cleanskin bos indicus. they were wild and dangerous, charge and gore your horse. i found a bull dog puppy tied to a tree in what seemed a dog fighting venue that was left in a hurry. i carried the pup in a pack saddle on a mule untill it was old enough to keep up. it became a top class catch dog and was bred heavily, made me famous and i made a lot of money as the go to guy for catching wild bulls. i developed a system, bought vehicles and made a shit load of money all by the time i was 19yo.

4. Do you train, title, show your dogs? I presently do pet assisted therapy with my dogs. I trained with a Schutzhund club in the past, but had to quit the club before putting a title on my dog due to health issues in my family - no time for a hobby. I hope to do agility with my pup in the future.

I got my first working dog in Dec of 1995. He was my first GSD and was a German Showline dog.
3. How many dogs do you own?
I own 2 dogs. One WG workingline male (Ice)... and a Czech/WGR female (Xena, who will be 8 yrs in May)
4. Do you train, title, show your dogs?
I train and title my own dogs. I havent done any show work with my GSDs. I did ( when I was in my mid teens) do conformation with a blue merle female Sheltie. I always placed really well with her. The lowest place she ever got was 4th.
5. Are you a breeder? How many litters did you breed already?
I am not a breeder. I have bred 2 litters of my own. I also use to raise puppies for Canine Companions of Independence (CCI). I had a female Golden Retriever.
6. Do you keep your dogs or do you sell them, if they don´t meet your personal standard?
I keep them. I did however place on GSD. She just didnt fit in here.

My dogs live in the house. They are outside during the day in a secure yard.

- I got *my* first dog when I was 10, Dallas. I didn't work or train her in anything "official" because I was 10, and my dad was always working so I really didn't have the resources to get to a club on a regular basis... so she was just my buddy. :) We've always had dogs though - I can only remember about 3 months when we didn't, that was when I was very, very young (3-ish), after my dads demonic toy poodle Gracie died, and before we got the mini poodle Rusty. There is a home video we found a few months ago, of me training Rusty to sit and lay down when he was about a year old (which would've made me about 4)... so dogs have always been in my life.
3. How many dogs do you own?
- I *own* 1, Qira, a GSD... I live with 2. The second being my dads mutt, Yapper.
4. Do you train, title, show your dogs?
- Train, yes. Every day. Title - not yet, unless you count an HIC. Show? Maybe UKC with my next dog.
5. Are you a breeder? How many litters did you breed already?
- No. Maybe in the far, far, far future, but I'm not sure I'm cut out to be a breeder.

- Our dogs are with us for life. They are like family... I get way too attached to ever give one up.

- In the house. She's only in a kennel when I leave and can't take her with, and that is mainly because the cat picks on her, so I don't leave them alone together. But, she comes to work with me every night, and tags along to many of the other places I go... so the kennel is not used too much.

I like most breeds, current fave is the GSD. I have always wanted a German Shorthaired Pointer too.
2. When did you get your first working dog?
Almost four years ago, he is only the second dog i have ever owned.
3. How many dogs do you own?
Just one, i dont know how i could manage more, but maybe in the future another one.
4. Do you train, title, show your dogs?
Hope to do all three, but at the moment just train and title. We achieved IPO2 last year and hope for 3 this year.

Nope, have no desire.

Well, only have had two and kept them both.

He is a free roaming in the house pet, only in the crate when we travel in the truck.
