COI - Why isn't there a COI calculator incorperated in the database?
It would have been awsome if it was possible to check for mating outcome, and at the same time get information on the COI.
Or maybe just find out what your dog's COI is by looking at the pedegree.
Thank you

No, I am familliar with that function, but thank you for trying to help out ;-)
What Im requesting is for this site to incorperate a COI calculator into the function/pedegree database. That way, when you look at the pedegree of a dog, it will show the COI of the dog aswell.
Same thing when looking for the mating outcome, it will state the COI of the puppies.
Another thing is that I would like to see more than 5 gen on the mating outcome, maybe 8 gen.

Here's what we have with the UK Kennel Club. If you want to see how it works, you can test it with two of mine that are registered n their database. Sire Nyrvana Walk On The Wild Side and Dam Ina Von Haus Targa In Nyrvana

Thank you Margaret. That would be working for this site aswell, but I really hope it can be incorperated so when you look at a pedegree it would state the COI at the same time.
So if you look at a 5 gen. pedegree it would state the COI of 5 gen. Same thin when you look at a 8 gen. pedegree, it would state the COI of 8 gen.

Thank You Kaffirdog! for posting that. If breed Clubs publish this for every dog issued papers it could also be added by the owners and dog enthusiasts to this site. So far we have more than enough areas to add information, including, but not limited to:
1. Comments
2. Extra Information Tab
3. DNA Data (perfect as COI is statistical DNA Data)
If an actual calculator was incorporated later into the site it could also be used to detect database errors so they may be corrected.
How many breed and/or Kennel clubs have done such a great service of providing COI % ?

the system now calculates the COI (Wright's and Hardiman's) for every dog. Check the linebreeding tab.

Very cool, thank you! Now can someone give us a quick lesson on what the numbers mean? What would be considered high, desireable, etc values? I'm reading up on how they are calculated but not sure what to think about the actual results.

This is a human list but works the same. I believe from what I have read you want to stay under 15%. Higher the number the more inbred.
100% | identical twins; clones | 0[4] |
50% (2−1) | parent-offspring[5] | 1 |
50% (2−2+2−2) | full siblings | 2 |
37.5% (2−2+2⋅2−4) | 3/4 siblings or sibling cousins | 2 |
25% (2−2) | grandparent-grandchild | 2 |
25% (2−2) | half siblings | 2 |
25% (2⋅2−3) | aunt/uncle-nephew/niece | 3 |
25% (2−3+2−3) | double first cousins | 4 |
12.5% (2−3) | great grandparent-great grandchild | 3 |
12.5% (2⋅2−4) | first cousins | 4 |
12.5% (8⋅2−6) | quadruple second cousins | 6 |
9.38% (6⋅2−6) | triple second cousins | 6 |
6.25% (2−4) | half-first cousins | 4 |
6.25% (2⋅2−5) | first cousins once removed | 5 |
6.25% (4⋅2−6) | double second cousins | 6 |
3.13% (2−6+2−6) | second cousins | 6 |
0.78% (2⋅2−8) | third cousins | 8 |
0.20% (2⋅2−10) | fourth cousins | 10[6] |
