Today we're having the nicest weather we've had in a long long time. Its about 72 in our house without any heat on, so I thought I'd open up some doors and windows to allow some fresh air in the house. My son is 17 months old and I didn't think about him being tall enough to open the screen door. (he's grown so much over the winter) I was reading in our livingroom when my dog suddenly became frantic and barked at the door and the window, then rushed over to me. I didn't know what was wrong until I see my son running full tilt for the woods behind our house. I had no idea he'd gotten outside, thank goodness for the dog!!! From now on our screen door will not only be latched but locked!

They sure can move fast at this age! When we stopped propping the doors open last fall my son wasn't even thinking about doors or tall enough to reach. Now he's not only tall enough but can unlatch and push the door open. I'm so glad that Sabre was concerned and said so.

I have had dogs and cats help me keep track of my ultra intelligent, not shy in the slightest, super curious son. I was a single parent and counted on my dogs. One dog would watch him like a hawk and was 120+lbs, he would gently use his body to get between my son and the "danger" like the front door, the stairs, etc, not that I didn't watch him myself, but it was nice to know my dogs got the dangers. My other dog would chirp if my son was getting one of his migraines ( he has outgrown). I never worried as long as I had my furry babysitters. You have an amazing dog !!!!!

Thanks! I'm so thankful for Sabre. He doesn't bark very often, I'm glad to know he knew something wasn't right.
