Anyone can help me,
my GSD 8 months old holds his tail crooked on the left side. Before few motnhs he never do that. He was on show with 4,5 months and judge gave him VP and said that his is very nice. But now, we have this tail problem.I read that trimming the hair on the top of the tail will help. Anyone try it? Thanks.

Your dog doesn´t care... no big deal in real life.
Are you able to feel a knot? If this is the case, trimming won´t help. Injury, heritable, whatever.
Sometimes it´s a shotened sinew or muscle.
If there is no knot and no injury ( look at the anal glands, too ) trimming might help.

Sometimes when puppies grow the tail will touch the ground causing them to hold it off to one side or the other, If this is the cause then triming the longer hairs ot the end of the tail making it shorther and not touch could help. You will need to do this until the legs grow enough for the tail to not touch.
If it is not a habit yet then he may go back to holding it correct.

Thanks for your advices. Today I examined his tail, and I don`t fell any knot or something strange on it. I tryed to straighten his tail while he is standing, and tail touches the ground. Tomorow I will try to shorten hair on top of the tail and watch whats is going to happen. Thanks very much folks!

Secho grab his tail about in the middle slide it down to the end of the tail bone. The hair that sticks out past your fingers is what you cut.

when the dog is standing @ rest, does he relax the tail & let it hang or is it corked all the time? pjp

When he standing still his tail is relaxed, but tail touches the ground and it is still, litle, litle bit crooked and when he is sitting and laying down it`s straight. I notice that he is very sensitive about his tail, and he don`t like to be touched. Maybe this trimming will help.

if the tail is straight when relaxed, then it probably isn't deformed. the dog is actually carrying it that way. i have one who does
that & there isn't anything wrong with the tail. pjp

I cut the hair on the tail today. Now it doesn`t touch the ground, and it`s not obvious at all. I hope it would help. Thanks everyone :) !

Hello
Can you people also advice on dogs that keep their tail curled at the end.... Tail is perfectly fine (no knots or injury) and has been trimed at the end regularly since puppyhood. When standing at rest the tail is hanging straight but when in movement or alert he curles it at the end. Dog is now 14months old.
Kindly advice
