He is 7 weeks old in this picture and we will be picking him up on Saturday. I didn’t want a long coat but he stole my heart with his personality and disposition so we will be taking him either way. I was just curious if he will definitely be a long coat or just a little plush? Thanks for any input!

The breeder was on the fence about it. She said most likely but was not positive yet. He was one of 8, 5 males and 3 females. Only 2 others, both male, have fur like him, but wavier and curlier than his. The other pups had very short smooth coats. I came across a pic of his father as a puppy and he was similar but a tad less fluffy, yet he was not coated as an adult. I was just hoping the same would be for this little guy. Thanks.

That looks like a BIG boy!! If he's going to be a coat, he will have longer hari between his toes and, especially, tufts of hair in front of this ears. Pick up his little ears and if you see tufts at the openings, you've probably got a coat.

You won't know until 18 months unless you DNA test. He looks like a regular GSD coat. All puppies are fluffy.
