Curse word, curse word, curse word. I thought we had Cirberus's Mega E cured. Well, I increased her food by a cup this morning and bam it was back. Very mild, but still very disappointing.
i did learn that holding a 21 month wiggly 60 lb dog in an up right position for 30 minutes is a challenge. She loved the snuggling for the 1st 10 min then was done.
Thanks for listening.

What about a Bailey chair?

No, we do not use one. We have been controlling it by portion control and we have done very well (no occurrence since she was 4 months old). We just let our guard down today and increased the portion by too much too fast. It is really just a small set back as she kept the food down, just gagged a bit. I just wanted to vent a bit before I started crying. Mega E is so heart breaking, as she looked so miserable.

Thank you. It just sucks when life steps in to keep you humble.
Gotta remember my goal though: To be as happy as my dogs. Cirberus is back to acting like nothing happened. I need to get to that place.

Yes Fawn; she obviously liked that you increased her food; unfortunately maybe a little too much, too fast; hey, she would want you to go forward on this and not blame yourself for her setback. Aren't they the most forgiving creatures on earth. She has already moved onward and upward. Have a good day and good luck with this. Nan

ME really sucks. My foster puppy has a fairly mild case of it and regurged this morning for the first time in a while. Sorry your dog reminded you it was still there.

Greyhoundgirl - I still believe portion control is the best way, especially for a mild case. Other than an occasionally anti-acid, Cirberus takes no meds. She also eats no special food. I started out with very small portions; 1/4 cup each meal with at least 2 hours between. I also found an automatic feeder that works very well if I am out for the day or weekend; Lebistro. Once she got down to 3 meals a day, this automatic feeder was a God send.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Yah, a full cup of additional food is a pretty big jump up in volume, when you really look at it...but no harm done, hopefully, and you'll just have to move slower with the increases. IMO it's safer to bump the intake up in 1/4 cup increments every other week, to give the dog's system sufficient time to adjust to the increased volume. But you're on the right track--take your cue from your dogs, and look forward, not back.
I've been infected with a sustained case of Pharrell Williams' "Happy" song/video, and highly recommend watching one [or more!] of the 24 hours of video...it's pretty damn difficult to not have your spirits lifted by both the song and the visuals:
